Golf this weekend

Played 18 Saturday morning 35points despite front 9 chipping of a 28 handicapper, 11 holes and an hour the short game area chipped like a single figure golfer again!

18 yesterday morning in the betterball swindle tied 1st with 46points!!!!

Oops, sorry about that comment Jack, should have said easier, compared with the other Fylde courses have played, Sure you will do fine there.

Ps are you doing the AVFTT thing this year.

Not sure about the AVFTT this year.. Having stopped going to football to play golf it does seem ironic, but with joining a club for the first time, a society I play in, and playing you lot off here, I might have to give it a miss. Shortage of spare days, somethings got to give...

I had my worst stableford score for a long time.
I drove the ball well, chipped like a member at Ascot, putted like a blind man[no offence] meant,
but absolutely loved it.
The sun was shining, the company good, the course ok,the birds were singing.
Can it get better than that, score wise yes.
Beats shopping.

Played 9 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.
20 stableford points for 9 on Saturday with a birdie at the 9th which was nice.
On Sunday I played my FiL in matchplay. Played the front 9 well again, the the exact same birdie on the 9th (the putt was from almost the exact same spot!), got a good lead and although I played the back 9 much worse I hung on for a 5 and 3 win.
Lipped out a birdie putt on our tough 18th, which was annoying, haven't birdied that hole yet.

Weather was lovely, it was a joy to be playing.

Well bang goes my plan to upload a pic from yesterdays game. Even out here it can rain sometimes!

Waterlogged couple of fairways meant the comp was cancelled as course only partially open

(funny thing was that most of the rain fell over the nearby mountains & a lot less on the course itself)

Yesterday, 18 at NorthWest and today 18 at PortSalon - dry and windy, particularly this afternoon. Though links courses you can't beat them - dry, great fairways greens good for this early and at least at Portsalon for the half dozen occasions I was in, rough was easy and ball could be found.... Bonus.

I just had a chipping lesson with our assistant pro. Once he'd watched me chip a few and had managed to stop laughing he said I must be a great ball striker to play off of 8 with a short game like mine. He's pointed out my issues and simplified things and told me if he ever sees me chipping with my 58deg wedge again he'll snap it in two :D Next week, bunkers.
