Golf Things That Gladden The Heart

Signed on the dotted line on Monday for new club. My subs ran out on my old place March 31st. I'm away for all of May and new place subs run May to May, so I popped up there to see if there was anyway they could let me sign up for April to May next year, well I am away for all of May soooooooooooo. No problem at all.(So I'm getting 13 months for 12). Subs paid, log in sorted, access to all comps immediate. E mail messages flowing in. First two comps booked ONLINE !!!!!!!!! A stableford and a Texas scramble shotgun.
Initial thoughts? I'm very excited!!!!!!!! And impressed. What a MASSIVE improvement from my old place. I got a e mail from my old club today. I thing to say, er you know that thing we wanted to do and trialled, well it don't work so we aren't going to do it sorry we led you down the garden path with an idea that the systems can't cope with. (Basically).
I think I'm reeeeeeally goooooooonna like it heeeeeeeeere!
I never ever thought I would say this but Tashy can you translate this please?

I don’t know if it’s the Mutts or it’s Rammel?

Cheers mate 🤣🤣

Just an hour ago, with two days to go to club subs deadline my Mrs said ‘you may as well pay your golf’. And so, sat at the club, I did.

I was always going to pay of course, but these last six months I’ve got so fed up with others moaning about what we are doing for our 2nd hole and practice ground, that I have wondered why I bother as I get so irritated by their constant whinging and complaining…and downright twisting of the truth (at least that which is blatantly and factually obvious) - even now when the main change to the hole has been completed. Still they moan and claim the majority view…when other than anecdotal comments the evidence says otherwise.

I could post similarly of our changes on the Golf Irritations thread, but given what I see of the work that’s been completed - it looks splendid and very challenging - I’ll pop it here alongside my renewal as something that Gaddens the Heart.
As I get older I realise that the best thing that I have done is to separate (or at least minimise) ties with folk who do little but drag what little joy there is in life through the mud. Yes we all like a moan now and again...but folks who are serial mood killers just need casting aside and should be given no time to steal your "clean air".
