Golf Things That Gladden The Heart

It's good going.....I'm not sure I want to get any lower...it's getting hard work..
Some days it all seems to work well as a low handicapper. However, the older I get I seem to have to grind that little bit more than I used to, which makes it seem a lot harder than it needs to be.

"Grind" is a key ingredient for good scoring. My buddy and I used to just say "carborundum" to each other for a reminder.

We have an England Golf Sensiors event kn at the club today and the weather's been awful so far..brighter now but windy and more rain to co e.
My mate's daughter is one of the organisers and they had a drop out yesterday...she asked me if I could be on standby to play as a marker...
Kind of had to say OK didn't I.......
Anyway, the tee time is 12.20 and I the weather looks set to deteriorat about then so not filling me with enthusiasm..

But they've just had another dropout so I could be in the clear....☺️☺️😎

Got my wife’s irons (5) all regripped today by club pro, supplied the grips so he just had to fit them. 4.80 a club which I’m happy with. Now if decathlon just has her fav glove in stock when I drive past later this afternoon she’ll be all set for her scramble on Sunday 🤞

Breaking 80 (79) for the first time in around 15years last night.. Down to 11.4 from a high of 15.7.
The inconsistency of mid hcp golf.. I was 18 shots worse the week before..
Well done, I did very similar last weekend with a 93/79 split. I both look forward to and dread this weekends score

Bit of a Mexican stare off today.

As I went under the bridge to our 7th hole fairway a young deer ran across the fairway then stopped to stare at me , so I stopped to stare at it. Neither of us made a move for quite some time. I eventually decided to play my shot in to the green and it decided to continue watching me.

My only disappointment was when it did not applaud my shot which went to 3 ft from the pin.

We will be heading to Bude at some point this month. Huge affection for the Town and the course.

It's not top tier, but it doesn't pretend to be. Several of the holes wouldn't be of place on some top links.

It will be our first time at Bude. From what I have seen it has some lovely holes there.
