I'm surprised you charge for your initial session. Perhaps a free initial consult would get more people through the door (so to speak) and enable you to explain what you offer and how the brain works etc, then if they want to sign up for more they can do it there for a reduced fee or something.

Not sure I would be happy to pay £50 for a session when I wasn't even sure what you were offering would really help or if I would get on with you, especially when you're talking about psychology

I appreciate what you are saying and the pricing is something I have thought about for some time and still not entirely happy with the structure. The £50 initial consultation & needs analysis needs to be quite involved though, it lasts 2 hours and also includes me going away with all of the information I have gleaned, analysing the faults/problems, coming up with ways to fix them and designing drills, questionnaires etc.

I will of course chat with people and have a brief meeting for free to discuss what I do and how it can help (like most businesses would) but I can't offer this initial assessment for free.

Are you a professional/registered psychologist, or hypnotherapist etc?

I don't see anything mentioned on the site, but maybe I missed it.

I am certainly not a hypnotherapist and know very little about that kind of thing.

I am not a registered psychologist or sport psychologist which requires a degree and post grad in single honours mainstream psychology. My degree is in sport psychology and coaching. Whilst I did three years of cognitive, developmental, and biopsychology the rules changed the year I started which meant it did not count towards a BPS accreditation as a psychologist in a protected title such as Sport Psychologist. I could, and probably will, do my post grad in Sport Psychology but even then I will still only be able to call myself a sport scientist not psychologist.
