Well it has been a long time in the making and more than a few set backs along the way but my website www.thegolfpsychologist.co.uk is up and running.

Not fully finished yet still needs a few tweaks here and there with the content but all in all I am very happy with my efforts.

Please have a look and let me know what you think, you can follow me on facebook and twitter too (although they are still in their infancy) if you really want to help out a new business get up and running :) in return I promise to continue to give advice on here to anyone asking about the mental side of golf. (whether they want it or not!!!)

Cheers guys

first glance looks excellent! clear, nice graphics, navigation buttons clear to move around the site- will have a much closer look later. I assume you or the site is sponsored or promoted by Mizuno due to the MP64 vid on the front page?

I would like to see some credibility info on who you are or qualifications etc etc apologies if thats there and I've missed it with first pass.

*edit* I see you will Guarantee to lower my handicap, bold claim but I like bold claims, whats the guarantee?

No the video was just a tester to make sure the function was embedded correctly before I upload my own video...I just love mizuno irons!

Yes, well spotted on my qualifications they are going to be on the intro section of the testimonials page which I am still compiling, and again looking to upload videos of clients and myself instead of just having them written out. Should probably get mine written up there for the time being though while I am waiting. Thanks for the advice.

Interesting... Im a big fan of this being expanded in the game personally. I think there's a massive mental involvement at all levels. My wife also wants to look into doing it as she does some other work in a similar area but non sport orientated. So what's the hourly rate to cure my slice and hole more putts?!! ;)

Like you say it is a bold claim to grab attention, and I fully stand behind it. If you are passionate and dedicated to improve. you put in the time and effort to practice the techniques and drills I advise then you will improve and your handicap will get lower. If you can honestly say you have done that and your handicap does not come down over time then I would look to offer some free sessions until we find something that does work and does reduce your handicap.

Not bad at all. The only thing that grated on me, finger nails on the blackboard sort of thing, was the use of the word "mediocre." I just don't like the connotations. Maybe its just my take on the word but I'd swap it for something like "average."

Well for a slice I would always say your first stop is a teaching pro for a technique lesson. If you have had those and you can hit it great in practice but slice on the course because of mental issues then the price list is available on the website. Holing more putts is my specialty and again the price list is on the website.

You are right, I don't like it either now that you have mentioned the connotations. I will change it when I get the chance.

Greg, are you a PGA qualified pro & teacher ... ;)

Seriously though, I'd be interested to see what everyone who has given JO hassle 's views on the appropriate qualifications of golf psychologists.

Still, as with JO, good luck
Maybe you could do some 8 hr range sessions for free with one or two of our "less stable" forummers, to drum up some business for you :)

Nice. Easy to navigate.

niggle. "Close your quotes.

longer term, not sure i would recommend publishing too much personal info, like mobile number and address if it is your home one. Get a relay number, say tollfreeforwarding.com and keep your mobile to yourself.

I like it. I sent you a PM about golf psychology last week. Did you get it

Hi Homer

I did get it and can only apologise for not getting back to you yet. I have just been working hard to get the website finished all weekend and most of yesterday. Every time I thought of replying to you I thought of something else that needed doing.

I will send you an email later today.

Looks clean and easy to get around

Not sure the following is grammatically correct Over half of every shot you take on a golf course will be with a putter or a wedge

And your not allowed to change the colour of the Facebook/twitter icons

good luck

Hi Greg

Site looks nice and is easy to navigate etc, so well done.

Are you a professional/registered psychologist, or hypnotherapist etc?

I don't see anything mentioned on the site, but maybe I missed it.

I'm surprised you charge for your initial session. Perhaps a free initial consult would get more people through the door (so to speak) and enable you to explain what you offer and how the brain works etc, then if they want to sign up for more they can do it there for a reduced fee or something.

Not sure I would be happy to pay £50 for a session when I wasn't even sure what you were offering would really help or if I would get on with you, especially when you're talking about psychology
