Golf on a budget!

Also if your on facebook there is a lot of golf equipment selling groups, nationally and usually locally to you. Lot of pro shops advertise their used stock and special deals though facebook groups.

Be careful with this, seen a few people being ripped off lately on a couple I go on.

Yes as with every purchase in life that's not from a reputable store, be careful before you part with your money. I have bought off Gumtree, Facebook and eBay and paid total strangers full price up front to post items to me. I've been lucky and only ever been done once and that was on eBay which you would think would be the safest. Always best as to buy face to face if you can.

Never used Adams clubs I'll have a look, has anyone used Ben Ross clubs? My club sell Ben Ross, ping and Titleist. Ben Ross seems really reasonable price wise

benross are a very good brand. Lots of reviews online on you tube. they are up there with your pings and titleist however they don't sponsor any tour pros which helps keep costs down

Don't think you could beat a second hand drive ping driver from g5 upwards. Mostly under £100 and all reliable handicap golfers sticks. Ben Ross are decent budget clubs, but if you buy new you'll take a big hit if you try and resell it, whereas a second hand ping will lose almost nothing.

If you use your common sense, eBay is just fine for this sort of thing. For a premium, use sites like affordable golf or golfbidder. Or just wander into your nearest ag, they have an awful lot of second day hand kit to move on.

Benross is great, but the only issue is spin rates on irons arent high. If you are looking at distance, then they are brilliant. I have a benross 3 wood which is fantastic

American golf have some bargains from the double trade in deal, I paid 70 quid for the latest G 3 wood. You'll pick up a g30 driver, TM r15 for around 120

Evening, I've recently joined a golf club after giving up cricket and wanting a new challenge. My set is made up of a ping rapture 18° rescue wood and ping g25 irons 5 - pw so obviously needing some longer clubs, with having a young family I can't justify £300+ on a driver and fairway wood, what would people recommend that's affordable but still decent gear?

Thanks in advance
Andy

Try Golfbidder and look at the older Ping http://www.golfbidder.co.uk/clubbrand/PI/1/Ping_driver.html?glf=WFJPf1

The plus side is they offer a seven day returns policy

Interested in this as well. The website says that fairway is suited to putting. Would love to know how big they!

I decided to take a punt on the free samples. I'm awaiting an email reply. Went for the "fairway" named on and the 3 most expensive - figured if i'm getting a free sample, I might as well get my money's worth.

I have a Cobra Bio Cell driver and a Titleist 915 3 Hybrid for sale if you're interested, cost me over £400 new for the pair.

Taylormade r9 driver and woods would be a great investment. Easy to hit, still keeps up with the big boys.

On benross, they are great clubs. Very long irons, but strong lofted so basically a 7 iron plays like a 6iron. I think i paid about £270 for mine brand new custom fit. Lovely irons. The hotspeed 3 wood is very good.
