I have just seen the GOLF LIVE 2011 announced.

Is it just me - or does £45 for basic entry seem a lot of money?

Surely the exhibitors are there to sell their "stuff" and as such, they want me (and people like me) to attend. I have to say I am loathe to fork out £45 to wander round an exhibition and see a few stars and watch them hit a few balls etc.

I would rather go to the Open at Sandwich and put £45 towards the cost of entry and see the same people playing for real.

Just my thoughts, what does everyone else think?

Of course it is worth the money if the tickets were free. That's my point, surely the exhibitors should cover the cost of entry for punters?

Not sure how they can do that. They must pay Golf Live and the host club large amounts to be featured and to get the best positions and so to then pay more money on behalf of the viewing public (a good few thousand everyday) wouldn't make sense. Add in the fact that the tour pros, coaches etc won't be doing it for free and it makes it obvious why the charges are there. As I said even if I hadn't had a free ticket I thought it represented good value for the equivalent money it would have cost

I also won tickets last year but was unable to attend. Gave them to our assistant pro . He felt it was a great day.
Would not pay £45 myself. Would rather go to the PGA at Wentworth the following weekend to watch some competitive golf.

Why is it always down south? I know us paupers up north are poor but... that said doubt you would get a Scot or yorkshireman to pay £45 for a upmarket carboot.
