What if you were playing in the Club champs finals and the match was halved at the end of 17 holes. You had the honour and hit your ball a modest 250 yards to the middle of the fairway, leaving a simple six iron to the pin.
Your opponent then hits his ball, lofting it deep into the woods to the right of the fairway. Being the golfer that you are, you help your opponent look for his ball. Just before the permitted 5 minute search period ends, your opponent says “ go ahead and hit your second shot and if I don’t find it in time i will concede the match”
You hit your second shot landing it on the green – about 10 foot from the pin . About the time that your ball comes to rest you hear your opponent exclaim from the woods “I found it” The second sound you hear is a click, the sound of a club strike and the ball comes sailing out of the woods and lands on the green stopping no more than 6 inches from the pin.
Now hear is the ethical delimma:
Do you pull the cheating light bulb ball out of your pocket and confront him with it or do you keep your mouth shut!!!!!:)

I read it as terminology not actually in his pocket. I personally wouldn't of walked away given the circumstance until the 5 mins was up and ball declared lost or found?

Erm guys......this is a joke........actually quite a funny one. Seems to have gone over everyones head...........

the chances of this happening are very slim. ill never be in the final. plus im that nice of a chap id still be helping him look for the ball even if he told me not to.

I did keep my mouth shut - just the once mind you.

It was a work knockout and I was in the trees one side and the guy I was playing was in the trees the other side. Found mine and looked up to shout but just saw him kick his ball out side ways - I wandered over with a massive smile on my face and told him I had mine and would have to play out sideways and considering where I thought his ball was how very lucky he was to have found it and on the fairway - my my.

I just could not stop smiling about it and he went to pieces and I won easy.

It would have been better to have said that I saw it and assumed he was conceding the hole and just getting practice in or maybe just called him a cheat but I had more fun the way I did it.

Well Once he hit his balls into the woods and you and he begin the 5 min long search, you should have just said, Nah, ill stay here and keep looking.
Once you moved up the fairway and out of his sight, Who knows if he found the ball or not
maybe he cheated but theres no way for you to prove it, you would just be starting a fight with no way to back up your claims

When you got the advantage like that, dont give it up, Always wait, make the rules play to your advantage when the chances come

Ok hands up if you are confused, i have read this 5 times and reading it SLOOOOOOOOWLY to try to get the joke and i just cant get it, its not because im stewpid by the way, im just a little bit hard of thinking.

put me out of my misery and tell me the pun please

Confused from Scotland
