Golf Courses you cannot play well on?

I hate show offs.......;)

Nizels in Kent is a course I just cannot get my head around.
Doesn't matter how well I have been playing, I go down there and my game just goes to pieces.
I normally play the 1st hole well, generally looking at par at worst, maybe a birdie...... it goes downhill from there.

Yep - the 2nd is a long downhill hole....😀

is it normal to just not be able to play certain golf courses well?

I am a huge fan of Saunton, but every year I go down there and basically forget how to play golf. Literally embarrass myself. The practice round on Sunday I hit the ball solid but the event yesterday. I'm surprised they didn't ask me to leave

as a member @ burnham, I would say I'm pretty experienced on tough links golf now, but I have NEVER hit some of the shots I hit yesterday at Saunton.

It it must be mental as I've played so well this year so far. But yesterday shot +13 and NR (off of 3).

long way to drive for .2 each year!!

It's pretty much all mental - Patrick has it spot on with the preconception aspect.

Whilst the same issue applies everywhere, including home courses, overlay a poor history from somewhere in the back of your mind and the effect can be devastating!

if Colin could putt he'd have shot level par! How was your 99@burnham? 🙈.

Only 2 hrs earlier Andy said to me he thought you had a chance of winning! It was the only reason I checked!

It was actually only a 45 at Burnham

#foursomes

Beau Desert . . . . .managed a 34 points as my best effort in 5 visits. Usually I'm fighting to get upto 30. I seem to play a few of the holes well, but the others , and the greens in general , always beat the crap out of me.

I used to have issues at Chiddingfold and have never played well at Mill Ride. No idea why

Probably because it (Mill Ride) forces a lot of lay ups that then leave 180+ approaches from even good players. Not short at all to start with either.

The one that winds me up is Hennerton just because it is super easy, but my wedge play is atrocious.

Didn't realise you were there mate, very jealous!! I might need to get a game there this year if I can, absolutely love it. I believe it suffered a lot with the storms, were there many trees gone etc?

Good golf round there, well played

I think that's my poor English mate, not been recently. Last time I was there was with you !

Played it 5 times now and chewed it up 4 out of the 5. When I score the 34 it felt like I was 5 under my handicap lololol

I probably thought I was reading the "I played today" thread

I've only played it twice, ruined me the first time and did OK last time out. I'd be off about 15 round there with those greens and my putting
