Golf Courses you cannot play well on?

I got an eagle there last summer in my first ever round there. Played quite well too. Cant remember the hole number, but its the one where you have a kindof blind tee shot through the hills on either side.

Sounds like maybe the 8th (right down the far end, railway on the right, properly blind shot)? Good job getting eagle anywhere on that course. I've had the odd birdie, but have so far found it to be tough track.

Chelmsford Golf Club, played it three times and each time played woeful. Not sure why though.

First time I played it IIRC I hooked my first two drives into the hospital, gave my playing partners/clients a right old chuckall as they thought I was a good golfer.

Strange, I got an eagle at Penard, (my course noir in post above), still wouldn't want to play it again for all the tea in china eagle or not!

Pleasington for me. Love the course, lovely setting aswell but never seem to play well there, never feel very comfortable for some reason.

Got an open there in a few weeks so see if I can get the hang of it.........

I used to have issues at Chiddingfold and have never played well at Mill Ride. No idea why

You're forgetting Maidenhead too or have you managed to wipe that from the memory bank? Played there a few weeks back and while I didn't embarrass myself (or to the level Hawkeye and I managed in the Nike knockout) I still didn't play great. it just doesn't seem to fit my eye and for some reason I just never feel comfortable there or play well.

I've only played there once and I had taken over 2 hours to do a 30 minute journey, and forgot my shoes. That was never going to be a good day but 1 round is too small a sample to say I never play well there

I am having issues with all courses at the moment. Don't play enough to be any good so just try and grab half a dozen pars in a round and if I find a birdie out there, then brilliant.

Never played well at Camberley until last H4H day. Hopefully I will be on form there tomorrow.

West Surrey is another one I never seem to play well on, though it is a parkland course.

Woburn, Duchess course. Will never play there again, as I hate chipping the ball backwards to try and find a fairway.

I always thought the East off the back sticks at Saunton was the toughest of the 2 courses but the 3 lads from my club who played there yesterday said the West is now tougher since it's been made longer and the greens were very hard to read and that was where they dropped most of their shots.

Record amount of NR's by all accounts, but all 3 from my club finished, our best (plays off 4) finished in the mid 30's from over 150 entrees and was pleased with that in the circumstances. 🏌️

East was Defo tougher of the 2 courses.

West was tough enough and even With the new bunkers it was far more scoreable but the greens were faster on the west.

However both courses from the blues are incredibly tough. Can't wait to play them again though.

Little to no rough yesterday. If I am honest.

also greens were exceptional. I putted like an absolute god but hey that's what aimpoint allows you to do on greens like that.

I wouldnt have said the west was tougher. The tees were all longer but there is still 3 reachable par 5s (I had 101yds left in on 3)

yesterday was the easiest I have seen the courses playing, it was playing really short and there was little rough. But the course still beat me up BIG time.

That's aimpoint for you ;)

It has to be confidence vs mechanics.

a lot of tour players are quoted as saying a certain track "suits their eye" which I presume means they feel confident playing it. Obviously could suit their ball flight but i suspect is mainly because they played well there in the past.

Good example would be Garcia and Wentworth - would only play there if forced to so doesn't enter regardless of prize pot even in a Ryder year. .
