Hi

I'm am planning a trip to Yorkshire in July and need to fill a slot on Sunday afternoon.
We are staying in Leeds on the Sunday night so would like to stay close to Leeds, and ideally play somewhere around the £40 mark tops.

We are currently considering cookridge hall?

Visiting northcliffe on the Monday and then over to ganton on Tuesday.

Thanks in advance

Cookridge Hall is very nice. I enjoyed Wike Ridge as well at a slightly lower standard. If you can get a bit further away Rudding Park is a good test.

I would recommend Moortown, was excellent when I played it last year. Not so sure about getting on for £40 though?

Yeah it was a toss up between Moortown and ganton for the championship course of the tour, but ganton just pipped it. Played at moor Allerton recently which i enjoyed, but want to visit a different course this time around, cookridge top of the list so far I think.

I'm from Leeds and could advise you but it all depends what sort of course your after and how many are playing are you driving etc

I like the course pal it's a very tough track it's in perfect condition apart from the greens which are poor hopefully be back to something like in around 3-4 week if you ever fancy a round in the summer give me a pm and we can play check out the web page see what ya think www.southleedsgolfclub.co.uk

Nice one, I'll send you a pm in a month or so and sort something out. Mind you just seen what you play off, I'll have to get some practice in beforehand.

Don't worry about that pal I can some weeks play like I've never played golf before we could maybe sort a mini meet out with a few members off here

There's only four of us and we are driving from Sunderland and Northampton. We are looking to play on the Sunday early afternoon, so we can go out on the Sunday night for a few beers in Leeds.

As we have northcliffe, and ganton booked we looked to play somewhere a little different to either of those courses, so cookridge looked along a more modern US course design to keep a bit of variety.

When are you playing Northcliffe? Couple of my mates are members there and played it the other week and it was in very good condition, some great holes and the first hole is a great start as is the 18th to finish on.

I would defiantly reccomend selby about 30 mins away from Leeds. but the course is great really good greens and fairways only problem is few rabbit holes near the tree areas but dose not effect any of the fairways that is around 40 a round I think if that any help

theres always fulford right on A64 in York if you want travel half hour from leeds, think its probaly nearer £50 than £40 but they do do some deals from time to time although its not your americam type contrasting course.

Thanks guys

We are playing northcliffe on Monday 22nd of July, Marshy. They have an offer for a four ball with buggies for 80,
so we are doing 36 holes in buggies following a heavy night in leeds. Before heading to ganton on Tuesday.

Thanks for the other reccomends, fulford was plan A but they are full with an open on the Monday and Tuesday and a bit over our budget on a weekend. Aim to do all of the prestige Yorkshire courses over the next year or so.
