I am being offered a choice, redundancy or move job to Singapore.

so before making such an important decision i really need to understadn whether any one has played golf in Sing??

or even surrounding area ie Malaysia, Indonesia etc...

what are costs? can you pay and play etc etc...

Singapore is one of the most expensive places on earth for golf. For the cheaper courses you are paying 100 and membership is so expensive you would need your work to pay for it. Beautiful place though, was there for 3 weeks in 2010 and loved it.
Food and Alcohol is rather pricey too, a pint is about the 5-6 pounds mark, bottles of spirits cost a lot too. Soft drinks are not so bad though. Chinatown is noticeably cheaper and the food is lovely, boat quay, clarke quay and Robertson Quay are local night spot areas on the Singapore river and it is a smashing place to be, very child friendly people too, staff would come out and sit and talk to us and the kids for as long as they wanted and even helped feed the little'uns.
Cant comment on Malaysia though.

My dad had the fortune to play at Sentosa a while back, said it was out of this world and the pictures back it up, there again for the reputed 15k a yr membership it should be lol.

Sadly for you, unless the golf is being provided as corporate membership I expect it may well be out of your reach financially

During the Singapore Air Show 3 years ago, I played golf in Singapore at Tanah Merah GC. It was a really nice course and I highly recommend it. I have no idea how much it cost as I was a guest of a big aerospace manufacturer.

I love Singapore and can't wait to go back there at some stage.

Snelly.
