Golf coast advise pls

Hi guys a friend and i are looking to treat ourselves to a days golf on 1 of the north wests links,we dont want to be paying £150 plus so thats Lytham and Birkdale out but will pay up to £100.Anyones thoughts and advise on what course to play would be appreciated

There are so many.

West Lancs and Hillside are both qualifying courses when the Open is at Birkdale and are available for under £100. WE are playing West Lancs tomorrow for £20 in a Seniors! Southport and Ainsdale and Hesketh are both good courses near Soutport.

If you are going near Lytham, St Annes Old Links is excellent ,full of tradition with excellent true greens along with Fairhaven . A bunker for every day of the yearat Fairhaven- You have been warned!. You could probably play both these couses for just over £100 in total.

Formby is a must ply track too. They had the amateur championship there in mid June and it is guaranteed to be in excellent condition.

An opens on in the area? I have played a few cracking courses over here for nowt much.
Irish GUI members just go on the the GUI website and ther is a list of opens by regin or club name.
