It was on the Setanta platform in the UK if I remember correctly and so never really going to reach the potential audience a dedicated Sky channel would. I really don't think there is the depth of content to make it a viable option though nor is there really the audience numbers

The Golf Channel was definitely on Sky at some point because I used to receive it and I've never had Setanta.

Id like to see a golf channel on sky but i think to make it work they'd just need to take the feed from america to make it work. Withe the exception on master or us open week they don't show a lot more golf than the main tournament. Yeah they have golfing world, inside the PGA tour etc. but that's not gonna make up a weeks worth of viewing.

Id have thought if they could make a channel out of F1 they could get one for golf. But then they had to do something special to make a point of getting the rights to the F1.

The golf channel had its own slot something like sky 416 it was next to setanta but like I said it was a channel in its own right.
