Golf books...

Local Oxfam has Bob Rotella's Golf is not a game of perfect - is it worth me investing a couple of quid in? I ask with caution as I really don't want lots of new ways of thinking cluttering up my fairly simple thought processes when playing. I think I have that reasonably OK at the moment - too much thinking will knacker me. But I AM interested having never read any of his books and as they seem to be raved about on here and elsewhere...

If anyone hasnt said so far, then Harvey Pennicks little red book is a must read. Ide stay away from the Pelz stuff, to much babble.

Golf Dreams by John Updike.

Bounce by Matthew Syed. Not about golf per se but a very good book on sporting excellence.

I would also recommend Golf international - the magazine.
I picked one up before a holiday to Italy once and was really impressed with it. The style of the magazine is to provide lengthy articles and I really enjoyed it.

Whereas the truly excellent golf monthly also crams in a lot of interviews, tips and articles written by their resident professionals.

I'v got Seve's official autobiography

Very disappointing read. Came over as a lonely man, who only wanted to be with his immediate family. Had hardly any friends in the game, not even his caddies. It was funny reading his take on a lot of the incidents in the Ryder Cup. He was always the one hard done by, and totally innocent of any gamesmanship.:mmm:

Great golfer, but his charisma and personality judging by the book seemed to be restricted to the course.
