Golf Ball History Question?

I received this crocheted or knitted golf ball (upper left) with a small collection of old golf balls from the early 1900s. It appears to be a practice ball. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I can't find anything on the Internet about cloth golf balls. --DrCox

My guess would be that it's a practice ball of some kind, probably for indoor use, not seen one myself either.

It looks regular enough to be a production ball rather than a home-made, I'll do some digging and see if anything turns up.

Just because it is with other golf balls any certainly it is one. Could be some sort of racket game ball.

This is an American product but the principle is the same and confirms it's a practice ball.
Looks to be 1930s in date.
