Just wanted to share my excitement at the prospect of trying out new wedges. I need a 54 and 60 to replace my old ones ready for the new season. Looking at the glide 2.0 or Vokeys (which I am doubtful about as they are much heavier than my existing wedges) but going to keep an open mind.

I play ICY wedges, custom fit by Iain Clarke, they are a thing of beauty. Mine are just over three years old now and was thinking about replacing them. I was considering the Vokeys, Glides and Mack Daddy's. I recently went on the practice range with a handful of Vokeys and a Glide from the pro shop (don't have MD's), I was really surprised by the Vokeys - did not like them at all. They were very light feeling, I had to hit the ball hard to get anything close to my current wedges which are a little heavier allowing softer hands and a softer swing. I also didn't see much in the way of spin. The Glides were a club apart, They very quickly came in really close to my current wedges, similar weight and feel, and good check, very impressed with them. I still want to try the Mack Daddy, but in the meantime have been back to Iain who refaced my wedges and polished them up like new, so
no hurry to replace just yet, time to find a Mach Daddy and give it a test.

Go to your fitting with an open mind, you may well be surprised at the outcome.
