Goals for 2016?

I've been working hard on my game this winter and have started to see some great improvements. I'm also gradually rebuilding my bag - wedges and irons done so far. Really hoping to be able to do hybrids and woods next season if I can.

Target? Not setting a handicap target but aiming to be lower than Fish and playing in our Tolly team (h'cap under 18) and I'm going to have loads of fun

I found my reply to last year's thread and it said this:

Play more. That's all, just play more.

Mind you, that was one of the 2014 goals too and I have a nasty feeling that the same work-related idiocy will have the same effect during 2015 as it did last year.

Well, it turns out that I've achieved that goal.

Nowhere near the likes of Phil, Fish or Rick of course but I think I've played at least 50% more this year. And by joining a club team and also playing more social golf I've stopped obsessing about handicap and qualifying comps so much, even though I've put in just as many cards.

So this year's goal: Play as many rounds of golf as I did in 2015. See if I can sneak in a few extra, even. And try to enjoy them just as much! I'll do it with a vague aim of ending up in the 12-14 HC range (starting from 18), which I think is achievable, but it isn't going to be a major thing if that one slides.

Probably had my most consistent year ever this year so hoping that continues into next.
A steady 6 will do me...golf gets bard when you get too low...
Playing, enjoying and putting Fragger to the sword on a regular basis will make a good year..

Get down to 9
Win a comp
Buy fewer golf clubs
Get the wife up the duff with our second

Stretch target: Twins (just kidding). Shoot a level par round in any game (shot 1 over missing a putt for level par, and 3 over this year, so not beyond the realms)

I'll struggle to match the season just past if I'm honest.

I'd like to get down to single figures this season, and a competition win would be a nice bonus. I'd really like though to play more courses away from home, but with money tight with the wife not working it is hard to get away.

I am trying to get down to 2! I can't see any practice time happening but, I have just joined a second club (Cirencester) as their comps seem to be alternate to my current club so I can maximise qualifiers. Probably means I will go up 0.1 a lot more!

I'm a Cirencester member

Will see you up there no doubt!
Cotswold hills staying my home course although may jack in A team this year as last year, it always ended up being my only game over the weekend.
I like the a team stuff but its dying on its arse year by year....has to change to 4ball one day soon

Would like to get the handicap down. For that I need to be a bit more consistent. A shorter swing should help with that (which I'm currently working on over the winter), then I'll just play as much as I can and see what happens. I'd like to see if I can get down to 12 next year.
