If the bagman doesn't make any difference, why does he get 10% of the winnings?

I think you'll find that as a 13 time Major winner, Kiwi Steve takes 90% of the prize money. After all he's doing all the work by carrying a big bag around for miles, not forgetting that he's also kindly provided the bloke he's with all of the clubs and allowed him to use them. It would be a tragedy if his bag mate starts spraying it in the wind forcing Stevie to walk with a heavy load into the rough.

Stevie-boy has been there before and no doubt if he wins, I'll be the first to turn up the TV volume to listen to his gracious victory speech.
