Have decided I am going to invest in a trolley for xmas - and following an array of good indications about the Go Kart on here, am leaning towards one of those.

Has anyone has any problems with theirs? My only reservation at the minute is that most of it appears to be made of plastic, and wondered if it will have the same longevity as a powacaddy or motocaddy?

Anyone any thoughts one way or the other, in terms of quality and reliability? Have obviously heard lots of positive comments about the service levels in the past.

Hi

I got my Go Kart in June this year and up until last weekend it was faultless.

The (18 hole) battery on it has been able to do 36 holes without problem but last weekend lost all power after 17.

Contacted GK and they confirmed they had a bad batch of batterys and mine was probably one of them. Next day 1030am a brand new battery arrived and they took the old one, great service.

I have had Powakaddy and Hill Billy before now and i cant praise the GK enough. Its light, powerful, folds down to nothing and lugs all my junk with ease. That it is plastic is a bit of a bonus in this weather, cant rust and dead easy to wash down. Its cheaper than the PK and HB too.

Hope that helps

I bought mine in June with he same problem I emailed them, 2 hours later a phone call and new battery straight away.
Great after sales

Had a problem with battery power draining after about 15 holes and only just getting round but they were out the next day to pick the faulty one up and give me a newbie without any problems. As it happens the courier company failed to deliver (their fault and not GK's) and so it took two days to arrive but as an apology they sent me a GK umbrella too. Great customer service and amongst the best I've seen in any sector let alone golf.

I bought mine back in Feb. After a couple of months was out in the rain and the power cut out, had to keep switching the on/off switch to get it going again as it cut out intermittently all the way round. Got round but was a real nuisance, phoned GK and they immediately arranged to pick up (at my convenience) and provide a loan cart to use whilst it was away. Got it back and it worked fine for a couple more months until, first rain, and same prob happened again. Called GK, arranged to pick up, and a loan cart again. This time they found a faulty circuit board which was replaced. At they same time, they also replaced the lower part of the trolley frame where the cart had been dropped (not by me) and a chunk of plastic had chipped off, I hadn't even mentioned this to them.

I have been very pleased with the level of service provided.

I'd had my GK a couple of months when a friend, thinking he was doing me a favour, stuck his foot out in front of the front wheel to stop it. The kart tipped backwards with a full bag of clubs on board and the handle hit the ground with a loud crack. It snapped the retaining latch, and whilst I could still use the trolley the handle wouldn't lock into place properly.
As the damage was "self inflicted" I thought it was going to cost me a fortune to get fixed. Surely damage like this wasn't covered under the warranty????
I emailed GK and within an hour I had received a reply. Long and short of it was that the GK was picked up the following day, a loan kart was left for me to use whilst mine was being repaired, and my fixed kart was returned as good as new within the week. All completely free of charge.
Result? I'm a customer for life.

Love this trolley.
It's only downside is not that it's plastic (In fact it seems far sturdier because of it)
Is that the motor is slightly louder in comparison with the higher priced models, but not enough to put you off.

It does make a bit of noise but I find it strangely reassuring.

I’ve had mine for a couple of months and love it to bits and so do others who see it, so much so that one of the guys I play regularly with has just got one.

Overall a great piece of kit!
My only complaint would be the umbrella holder wobbles about too much, also when the brolly is up on windy days, the kart is prone to falling over when unnatended.

Don't Zig zag the fairways so much the battery will last longer :D :D

Yeah I have found the same problem, I end up holding the brolly attached to the trolly just to be safe.

don't know of many trollies that won't fall over in this situation - mine has been known to and it's not exactly lightweight.

I think there needs to be a modicum of common sense. Putting the umbrella in the holder in the strong winds of recent weeks is akin to putting a sail up and so there will be less stability and even a dual canopy brolly will be affected by the very strong gusts. I've found that in wet and windy conditions its actually less hassle to put the rain hood on my bag and not bother putting a brolly up at all.

My umbrella holder works fine in more sensible conditions and is a godsend for putting a towel and glove under the brolly itself and keeping both dry.

I bought a Go Kart for the Missus a couple of years ago and only had one problem, the clip that holds the rubber `bungee` in place at the bottom broke off, they sent a replacement free within 2 days, great service. The battery is getting a bit tired now so need a new one. ;0)

Lol. I love these threads "yeah Get one cos when they inevitably break there is great customer services" I have a powakaddy freeway and i don't know what the customer services is like, cos i have never had to use them..

I'm sorry guys but you must admit it does look that way when you read through the thread.. I'm not just having a go for the sake of it. I'm sure it is a good value option but it just amuses me that the first/main reason people give for recommending it is that when it breaks you get it fixed quickly.
