Whilst I have read a good many tips in GM thats been very usefull some are either a bit impractable or downright silly, putting string across across the practice putting screen comes to mind, but the one in this weeks mag that says to put a basket between your legs where I dare say it might help, but it would also make you look a right plonker.!!!

I often use a piece of string tied to two metal skewers as an alignment aid when putting, very simple very effectice, really dont see it as impracticle??

I can always find a hole on the practice green, really grooves straight six footers and is good to indicate the break lines on sloping putts, it takes up absolutely no room in the bag and takes all of 10 seconds to set up, cost about £1.

Agree with all that you say, just think as most players play at the weekend when its busy, perhaps wouldnt get to use it much.

I haven't used the string but regularly use my putting mirror on the practice green either mid-morning at weekends or in the summer evenings and can always find a spare hole to work on my stroke

Is it the yes mirror? Has it helped your putting? Bought 1 for my brothers xmas, liked how it looks and was thinking of getting 1 for myself.

I've had a couple of goes on our Pro's putting mirror, it has magnetic adjustable pegs for monitoring swing path, really really useful gadget, thinking of buying one for myself.

It's the Eyeline version that originally came with a putting rail. I've since taken that off and just use the mirror. It's pretty good for checking the basics especially head and shoulder positions. Add in a V-easy and you should be a putting god
