TBH i rarely put my name forward for gear, i like the stuff i have and most of the time these thing are in the south of England and i live in the north of Scotland. Besides i read the mag and come on here as in interested in golf not fee stuff;)

Tend not to apply any more, as I did well out of the G20s fitting a couple of years back, and tend to want others to get a similar fantastic opportunity - however I will be first on the list when the "Play a round with Paula" opportunity finally comes up :)

I agree with giving good feedback. Mike told me the PING guys were really pleased withe write up I did on here, and that was nice
All the clubs are still in the bag, and I'm still as pleased as punch with them.

I do not apply for the fittings as they tend to be darn sarf, no problem with that as that is where GM is based so it is to be expected but it if is a postal opportunity then I will apply. I have done well to be honest. I have received an Under Armour polo and a dozen balls from Wilson so I count myself very lucky to date and am gratefull to GM for all my prizes.

Just wondered if you put your name forward for everything or if you wait for specific brands/items/locations before putting your name down?

C'mon....be honest!

Me.....I'm waiting for the Orka/Galvin Green fitting at Augusta :D

So you will give the Slazenger/Dunlop fitting in Bagdad a miss then Gordon :smirk:

I enter the ones that appeal to me. The only one I've entered recently was the Mizzie fitting. I did enter the TM Driver opportunity but then rescinded the application after thinking about it a bit more. I did win a clothing fitting a few years back and still wear the clothes now.. The T Shirt and Baselayer are on their last legs though...

Only put in for certain opportunities over the years. I've been lucky with Callaway balls and Titleist balls over time. I even had a fairway wood to test and review, it wasn't my cup of tea so it moved on to Imurg and possibly even someone else over time.

Great opportunities available for all, where else do you get that :D

That found it's way to GiBBO and then onto Fish unless I'm mistaken.....

I switch between carpet bombing and some specifics. Usually the reader opps are pretty good so I will happy to get fitted for anything (other than tees, towels etc). I am not disappointed when I loose out on some, but am gutted when it is something that I was looking for e.g. Mizzy irons.

Just a question to GM towers... does being featured in the 'Meet the forum' or 'letters to the ed' or the '19th hole' count towards you been recently selected and therefore discounted from being included in the draw???

I'd go for any full sets with full day event anywhere in country. But I tend to look at the financial first, if I can get the item cheaper than the round trip and sccom for the event, I'd tend to give it a miss unless it is a money cant buy opportunity

Still feel that there are more opportunities darn sarf, than for us northerners. Surely there are tour trucks, fitting centres and manufacturers that can enable more central opportunites. I live in the north west, but for the scots people unrealistic distances for a putter or driver fitting

Dont get me wrong GM offer some great prizes and opportunities, for manufacturers they would get much more for their pound if they offered more for GM to put out for winning. Also more coaching opportunities like the #PYB and similar would be good.
Keep up the good work GM, just try to keep it further north :D

I've just been chosen for the cleveland/srixon fitting in only the 2nd one I've entered.

I went in for it as my wedge play sucks big time....

I wouldn't enter any old comp unless I needed the new kit.

Are the reviews true though?

are you not biased in your review of how well the equipment actually works considering it was free?

free equipment influences opinion......just saying...

I never discount myself for the brand but with my current financial situation and only being at my new job (another one!) for a month can't warrent taking the time off either. The all seem to be too far away for me to get to which is a shame as I would have loved to have put my name forward for a few of the recent ones but can't.

I haven't entered any yet, (only been on here a short time, but wow! What opportunities)

I'd feel pretty bad about myself if i got selected for one i didn't really need. Taking the opportunity away from someone that needed it/ it would be more beneficial for. In 12 years of playing I bought my first new club today. So want my new first set to be special.

I only enter those offers that really appeal to me, but, because I'm not a member of a club, I assume that I'd probably be overlooked :(.
Convince me that I'm wrong when the next set of irons & a fitting comes along .

Slime.
