Just wondered if you put your name forward for everything or if you wait for specific brands/items/locations before putting your name down?

C'mon....be honest!

Me.....I'm waiting for the Orka/Galvin Green fitting at Augusta :D

im quite happy with my bag at the moment but would apply for the following:

Titleist full kit out or Scooty Cameron putter fitting
Mizuno irons fitting
Day with a pro or playing day at a top course

the ones i really want to come up are a full titleist fitting or a week at the oven...

I wait for specifics. For example, I ignored the cleveland offer, as I already have two 588 wedges.

I haven't put my name in the hat for about a year now since my name came out of it for the TM fitting. If i were to be throwing my name in, it would have to be for something i would buy myself, not just for the sake that its free!

Specifics for me also. Already play Mizzys so skipped the fitting but like cleveland wedges so went for that one. As a person of the larger persuasion I shy away from the clothing fittings. Am too vain.

I'm more specific apart from things like opportunities to play rounds of golf somewhere decent. In terms of things like gear, I didn't go in for ones where I was happy with gear, like my irons. However, I have went in for the Big Bertha fitting opportunity.

I wait for the ones that genuinely interest me, certainly don't 'enter' all of them - think I've applied for three or four since last summer. Three of which were within the last two weeks!

Yup, same here - last one was TM and would feel a bit like an arse applying for others for the time being. Some amazing ones recently though!

haven't entered any yet, although the callaway driver, titleist/mizuno irons and cleveland wedges did turn my head. very hopeful there will be an SM5 date up in Edinburgh at some point. currently carrying 13 clubs, and am due to upgrade my wedges again, and considering going from a 2 to a 3 wedge set up.

Have been putting my name forward for years now for a fitting day. I do look at specifics and do not apply for everything so, for example, I am happy with my wedges so the Cleveland/Srixon one was out. I am, however, having driver issues so I put my name forward for the Callaway and TM Opportunities.

Nope. Not a one.

I'll admit to being tempted by the Mizuno day (.. Obviously) but my 63's are going great guns at the minute so they're staying put.

If they were to do a Footjoy/Galvin Green kit-out day, I my be interested :D

Didn't enter the Srixon thingy, as I have the wedges, didn't enter the callaway one as I couldn't get the time. Entered the TM as I was already on a half term break. Entered the Benross as I thought I could get the time, shocked when I got picked but then had to turn it down as we just heard about a huge contractors visit this week ... only to then be told that they would have let me go as I wanted it so bad :(
Entered for mizuno as Bearwood is 25 mins away :)

I only put my name forward for the ones that I am interested in, and are within a reasonable travelling distance. I did not put my name down for the recent Titleist irons offering as travelling to Scotland from the south coast of England was a little too far.

same here, I love my cleveland wedges and already use srixons, the mizzy fitting was too good not to stick my name in for despite an 8 hour round trip and just got lucky. I would not dream of entering anything else again equipment wise for quite a while, maybe if a driver fitting comes up again in a year or so I will stick my name in again. Good luck for other fittings you have one lucky git not to worry about for the foreseeable future :)

As others really, I enter the ones that interest me.
Entered the latest TM driver, Cally, Mizzy and Cleveland ones, not the Benross as I can't make the date. Would have entered the Titleist irons one but couldn't travel the distance in the available time..

Would be nice to get picked one day......

Only go in for the ones that interest me, as they all seem to have been close to London so far I've not had to give too much consideration to travel or not applying due to distance.

Most of the opportunities are quite tempting - certainly great for somebody. But, once I get over the initial "ooh that'd be great" reaction I think about it more logically.

Where is it? How many days off work will I need? Do I really need a SLDR having just bought a new driver? I'm hitting my irons quite well, do I actually want to change? etc etc. So while I have applied in the past I didn't for any of the recent opportunities.

The ones that interest me more are the "experience" type ones rather than the "get stuff" ones. I didn't enter the "play your best" as it looked pretty obvious that a female wouldn't be considered for that one but that's much more the sort of thing I'd go for - a real opportunity to get help to improve my game.

I propose a new "PYB - Women" feature with top female posters from the forum selected! :D
