I’ve been given a present of playing at Gleneagles I’ve played the Queens course and would happily play there again.
After reading the reviews and pics KenL posted on here it seems most favour playing the Kings.
When I played the Queens off the yellows I thought it was a fair test for my ability (18h/c)
Would playing the Kings off the yellows be comparable to the Queens?
Why do some prefer the Kings? I’ll be interested to know.

Kings, Kings, Kings 😊.

The Kings is like the Queens, but better. Better designed holes, better shape, better scenery.

I've played both, both off the yellows and the Kings wins it comfortably. I don't dislike the Queens, how could you?, the Kings is just that notch up.

The Kings is equally playable incidentally. I was off 18-19 when I last played it, had a great time, scored okay (above 30 somewhere). That was off the yellows. In effect, it's a cracking test but isn't trying to beat you up. Play off the correct tee, yellows I'd guess, and it will be comparable to your time on the Queen's.

Thanks, it was your posts that got me wondering about playing the Kings as I know how much you loved it👍

I don't think it's a gamble, if it was I'd be more cautious. If someone said to play the PGA course there it probably comes down more to personal preference, it's more subjective. The Kings, for me, takes the best of the Queen's course and dials it up more. It's similar but better.

At worst you may prefer the Queen's but I don't think you would dislike the Kings, if that makes sense 😄

I like both but the Queens is more fun and is a very fair course.
There is not a bad choice up there.
Best Hotel ever stayed in as well.

Did all three courses a couple of months back and loved all three. As others have said, if you’ve already played Queen’s anyway, it would be a crying shame not to give the King’s a go. It’s absolutely top quality.

Queens is a great course and an easy walk, Kings is definitely a better course but its longer and there are a few hills to climb on it, if you haven't played The Kings I would advise you to play it as you won't be disappointed. Bit of a nightmare at the moment as all the courses have been closed over the last week or so due to frost and snow.

I think playing off yellows is a similar length to my course and we also have a few hills so that aspect won’t be much of a problem for me.
I decided to play the Kings and it will probably be either May or late summer.
I really just wanted to make sure it wasn’t to hard playing off a 18 h/c.
