Gapping in your wedges

SW, PW and 56. With my course being moorland with very few bunkers I tend to use my 8 iron from 60-80 yards if it's straight forward, PW from 60 yards in from semi rough and SW or 56 from closer in either fairway or semi. I'd either putt or 8 iron from around the green on a decent lie.

I've got a 45 PW - Mizzy mp53 then 48 52 60 Vokeys. The numbers sound wrong but it works Distance wise. I don't mind the big Gap between 52-60 as I'm never hitting full shots.

I used to have a 15 yard gap between PW- 50* before changing which was hard to manage at times.

interesting to hear all the different wedges people carry!

What distances do you get with them?
my 52* goes 115, 54* 100 and 60* about 70. Full shots but weirdly I never have to really do the full shots often. As my course management kinda restricts this.

My working yardages with wedges are 75 93 and 118. Gripping down the shaft takes off 10%.

If the bunkers are 'firm' I will swap out the 75 yds one for one that does 65 - I really don't notice the yardage 'gap'; but I feel more comfortable with that wedge in firm sand.

48, 54 and 60.

First two are used for full or half shots, the latter is just for chipping, bunker play and flop shots.

The 48 is from my set - Ping i25 and the 60 is a Mizuno but I don't know what model, I just know it is a nice pale blue colour!

The 54 is highly variable, I am not happy with any of the ones I use. Current one is a Ping Gorge but the three on the naughty step are the same blue Mizuno, a Mizuno RAW wedge and a Cleveland CG16. Any could be back in the bag today though.

Interesting OP
I can see from a fitting point of view where they are coming from in terms of full shots and gapping.

Wedges are personal and I very rarely swing hard at a wedge. End of the day quite a lot of wedges aren't forgiving. They are basically all blades so contact is key- and for me swinging at 50% - 75% it's easier to get a better strike.

Do what you feel is best. Iv got a 50 56 60. The 50 and 60 have low bounce my 56 has a higher bounce. I feel like this gives me the option to really chop down on it if the lie is a bit dodgy - it gives me another option.

have you had your pings bent as i was under the impression i25 was a 46 deg PW

I have my PW which goes about 300 yards, my 50* gap wedge that goes about 270 yards, a 53* Cleveland that goes about 240 yards and then a 60* Cleveland for those delicate shots inside 220 yards.

None of them get above knee height
