GameGolf. Do these benchmark stats seem reasonable to you?

Played my 3rd round of the year today and am now an avid "Game Golfer". Great wee device. Loving it.

After my round I uploaded it to Game Golf and, out of interest, wanted to see what kind of stats THEY reckon I should be achieving. They base your actual score on a baseline Par 72 course so at my handicap I should be scoring 78. They have a facility to compare against various benchmarks for differing standards of golfers so here's my comparison against golfers who average 75-80 shots per round.

Do you reckon THEIR benchmark stats are reasonable? I'm guessing they're based on actual data from rounds that have been uploaded. Seem fair to me. Certainly highlight where I'm going wrong and give me something to aim for, if nothing else.

Never seen the benchmark before, good find, and I reckon it'll be pretty good for goal-setting. My next aim is to break 90, and so here's a comparison of what I'm doing (in the limited 45 holes I've played), compared to what I need to be doing to score in that 85-90 category:

Ignore sand saves, as I've not actually played out of a bunker with GAME, as they've been out of play everytime I've played. I really need to start hitting more greens; but hopefully a round without stupid fairway mats will help. That fairway accuracy, and driving distance needs to come up too! I basically need to improve every area :p

Ah Dr Findlay's casebook - good to see you back on the forum!

yes all the benchmark stats are generated from other GG users scoring

That's a great find...and when I eventually manage to play a full round with it, it will be interesting to see what the suggestions are.

I'd say your benchmarks look about right. Bring down putts per hole, and increase the GIR stat...and if you do miss the green, get that scrambling stat higher (sounds simple, right!)

Look pretty reasonable to me. Very similar to some Golf Digest ones I stole a few years ago to benchmark myself against:

Always need a pinch of salt with these as the provenance is subjective but probably a good starting point. They also don't allow for each us having different strengths and weaknesses accounting for our hcp but credit to them for trying to piece this together.

Yip, Wabinez. Increasing the scrambling stat should naturally bring down the putts per hole unless I'm 3 stabbing the greens I'm hitting in regulation. Ah, it's all so simple. :-)

It's available on Dektop Site, can't get it on app😢

That is a cracking function. that my have just made the difference on whether I buy one of these gizmo's (I was looking for an excuse TBH)

The fact the function is less than 12mnths old means it is only going to go from strength to strength. The opportunities they have are endless to improve it.

i think the information it will eventually provide is scary

Agreed. It certainly is. I'm scared by the info I'm seeing already. :-)

Lads have you done a "compare your stats" against the others on here? Our putting isn't great, is it? And, of course, our average drives aren't the 300 yard boomers we think they are. (240 average is great, it seems) :-)
