Posted something similar to this before. Some of you older guys may remember, but I had a game of two halves on Tuesday at Drumoig.
Went out in 9 over (46) and came back in one under (34)
Obviously delighted with my score on the whole. Even more delighted that I beat Dormie 5&3 "Woohoo!", But still a bit frustrated that I can't pull it all together for a full round.
I've proved that it can be done but I don't know how I can either hold it together long enough or make the start that's needed. Any tips?

do you warm up before a game, i.e range or chipping green, putting green.

I find if i dont it takes me a few holes to get started and that is why i have a poorer front than back 9.

No secret Atticus, just stay concentrated and being a good scrambler is key so when your game goes off a little you can still get the pars.
Physically important to drink water and eat something later in the game or you'll tire and the score usually suffers.

If I had the answers I'd play off about 5!

It's so "golf" - that's what it is. Clearly, to start well is the preferred option (in my book) but I try to keep a level head during the storm of a "nothing seems to work" series of holes and wait for a hot run, which sometimes never comes of course. Today I warmed up, did all the right things and bogey'd the first 5 without a decent shot in sight. Then managed to par home for a 5 over for 9 holes.

I could have let it wind me up by the 4th (the first 3 are genuinely the best par chances for me until the 15th) but I ground out safe bogeys and remained calm. You did a cracking job to come home 1 under, and well done on the win.

The 1st was a dead straight 360Yd Par4!!! My dreaded slice off the Tee accounted for two balls, didn't warm up first! After that I was hitting fairways and greens quite well. I am sooo looking fwd to the summer!!!
