Futherest you have hit a golf ball

A long way...you used to get one heck of a huge bounce off the tarmacadamed access roads that criss-crossed Dunsfold Aerodrome Golf Course (home of British Aerospace Dunsfold Golf Club).

Realistic hit, or the one where the wind took it for miles. When I was member at Spalding I once managed to hit it onto the front of the 4th green, 428 yards. But there was about 2/3 clubs of wind behind me and it carried over the slight dogleg, about 320 yards, onto a big downslope which made it shoot forward down the hard summer fairway to the front of the green. As the crow flies it was about 400 yards.

Longest I've measured with GPS is 309yds on our 4th. I once drove our 18th from the yellows which is something like 323yds and a little uphill. Finally, have driven our 6th which from the yellows which is 328yds on the card and is slightly downhill. All in summer with firm fairways and slightly wind assisted (certainly no headwind).

A more typical drive for me is about 270-280. Just occasionally get it right and really flush one with a touch of draw, hence the longer results above.

147 is hard to beat, but I did manage to squeeze one out at 329 at Hill Barn. Absolutely ripped it down the middle. Then missed the green with a SW, then fatted it into the bunker and made a 6.

I've also got a 360 yard drive tracked on GAME Golf, but upon looking back, I appear to have buzzed my club in Apartment 4b about 60 yards behind the tee. Ah well, I'll claim it. Actually managed to make a birdie with that one though. Bonus.

337 off the 10th? at St Andrews new (the one after the long par three with the estuary on the left. Very firm fairway, downslope and wind assisted obviously.

Can I just point out that the expression 'birdie' refers to golf and not the woman in apartment 4B ;)

298 yards on concrete like ice- just went and went and just stopped short of our wee burn.

On a normal condition; albeit strong wind behind and elevated about 275-280

The mandatory jokes seem to have been covered quite quickly, congrats you win a prize as the 1 millionth tellers

I have a pretty good idea, but prefer to share my 8 iron onto a par 4 of 355 yards as my self appointed world record..10th Hole Craigmillar park.

Problem is with the longest drive it is not necessarily the BEST drive, i would say my BEST drive was 355 yards (Not the hole above) with the original TM burner driver 1st Hole at Craigmillar Park in Edinburgh, made the putt for a 2 as well.

355 yard 8 iron?
