Frozen course lottery.

firstly you should not be playing if the course is frozen our greens keeper puts the closed sign up even at the hint of frost witch is when more damage is done to the grass and this shows when the spring comes and the course is in great shape as for h/cap we have like most clubs a summer and winter h/cap in winter we have 4 shots reduction and play to 3/4 of that in pairs comps, playing to full summer h/cap in winter makes me think the committee cant be bothered or poorly run club.

Obviously it's not ideal playing on frozen ground, but as long as there's not a freezing wind I quite enjoy it.

You just have to accept it's different and you aren't going to hit a lot of greens.
It makes you use your imagination both on approaches and chips.
