I love a bit of fresh air...but not when it's rushing at me at 40mph.....or when I have one on the first tee!

Bit of an eventful round today. Playing in one of our League of Gentlemen events at Whitekirk GC in East Lothian today. First round since our GM event at Craigielaw. The weather forecast was spot on for once. No rain but very windy.

Had a chance to have a wee practice swing before the first tee shot since the practice range is only 30 yards away. Two tops. Not encouraging. When I stepped onto the tee there was a gale in my face. Took what I thought was a sedate (ish) swing and missed the ball completely. Oops.

Blobbed the next four holes, started shanking and later had two penalty shots when my ball moved on the green in the wind after I'd addressed it. Both putts were for birdies and they ended up as bogies. Ended up with 18 stableford points off my society handicap of 4. What a day!

Oh...did I mention I lost 9 balls?

Totally demoralised about the Scottish weather. When's the sun gonna return? :(

Nightmare round mate sorry to hear.

Had my first round today since Craigielaw also my shift pattern lately has been dreadful for my golf.
Played Montrose Medal and shot a very respectable 86 in a howling gale.
Hope your game picks up soon.

Didn't play today. Went to the range this afternoon but swung the club dreadfully. Thank god I've a lesson booked. Had a mate offering me a round and I turned down the chance to play for a lesson so I hope my good intent regarding improving will be noted by the golfing gods and rewarded in due course

It really is frustrating to go through such a shock round. Having played brilliantly on my round before, thursday saw me get a poor 11 stapleford points on the front nine and was hitting it worse than I had for 6 months. I managed to regain a little bit of form on the back 9 achieving 21 points but was still frustrated and feel your pain. Hopefully you can bounce back from this slight blip/ setback- I'm hoping to get back to hitting well at the range tomorrow.
