Anyone else experienced great freebies? i had a good day recently when invited by mercedes to a days golf at the buckinghamshire GC. Well organised, good breakfast, refreshments during the round and a wonderful meal afterwards, all supported by a good course and good company. Whats the best freebie you have experienced.
To finish the day a credible 32 points playing off 11 (3/4 handicap). :D

Not personally, but my best friend will be playing Royal St. Georges, the day after The Open, on the championship tees, with caddies!! All part of a corporate sponsor perk..."no vacancies", he said to me. :(

I said I wasn't interested anyway...crying into my keyboard.... :D

managed to sneak an invite to a golf day run by Lexus, who my uncle works for to make up the numbers, ended up coming second, got an all expenses trip to Lytham and St Annes for the regional final - chaffeaur driven to blackpool, hotel room for the night, free bar etc etc. needless to say I shot about a million after some less than ideal preparation the night before but was a great trip.

an old mate of mines company had corporate at loch lomond managed to play it twice thru him and a cracking meal afterwards all for nought, that was in 2001 before they jacked the prices right up needless to say he aint got it anymore.

Use to get free day each year with Castrol Oil , a place called Glasson golf & Country club in Athlone , beautiful place has hosted a couple of euro pro tour comps . On arrival you got a free gift , then breakfast bap , play your round to be greeted on the 9th with burger & drinks , in then to have dinner , you had the option of staying over the night before & the night of the game . free bar aswell .. great event & great hosts ,, no day out last year & no word on this year either ,, must be a recession or something , ah well good while it lasted

Only one I can recall was when I was on holiday in Seattle with my Dad. A friend of his is ridiculously loaded and is a member at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.

Cue all expenses paid day on the course, complete with lunch, free (proV1) range balls, tees, bronze bag tag etc..

Was rather nice.

got an corporate invite to the Nike corp hospitality at the Open in St Andrews that year, picked up in a chaufeur driven merc by a lady (stunning) driver.
Beautiful breakfast and goody bag of;
1 pair of Dryjoy shoes
1 Dozen Pro V1's
silver Nike ball marker
Personally signed book from Tiger..
A Nike Putter with my name engraved
A Nike 3 Wood
A pass to the R&A clubhouse
A behind the ropes pass for the 4 days

then a 5 course lunch with free booze
a complimentary foot massage

Then Mr Woods walked in to greet the sponsors (not me I was a fill in) met him shared a joke then he offered a one to one clinic, he said I had amazing potential and would I like to come on his practice round today and play 9 holes with him :D
Played a dream and was 4 under for the 9 and tiger was 3 under, he asked me how serious I was about golf and was about to ask me to join the Nike tour bus on his staff with all the perks..........................when I woke up :D

feck!

yeah the par 3 is a toughie off the back sticks , there was always a charity thing on that for us , €5 to enter if you made the green you won a sleeve of prov's (sponsored)..

Not as swish as some above but got to play Baltray (county Louth GC) not long after Shane Lowry beat Bobby Rock a couple of years ago now.
Got there had a massive fry up with more toast and coffee than was necessary. Goody bag Inc lunch before we teed off, course was in great condition with bunkers being fantastically difficult in places, wind was bearable and afterwards had a very good meal afterwards served in proper portions.

played Lock Lomond last October - stayed 2 nights at the coach house that is to the left of the 18th green near the jetty and speedboat - 2 nights of dinners etc but only 1 round. What a magical experience! And I won a nice Loch Lomond tie - 34 points after 3 putting the last from not far away for a bogie and having a nightmare blob, blob, blob at 13, 14 and 15! The guy who organised the trip tried to book it this year but the shutters are down as the members have bought it from administration - so no more corporate invites! Still, I will always remember the experience that started by being picked up by the chaufers in new Range Rovers as Glasgee airport, via getting pissed (almost) with about 4 or 5 pints waiter service around a table in the changing room after the game while our shoes were being cleaned! Not sure what it will cost for membership now but it is likely to be a multiple of the £4k it used to be

I have been super luck, Last year I won an Online golf comp with Srixon and got to have a short game clinic and a round at Bearwood, the place is STUNNING and I hope to play there again one day.

A few weeks later I won some grips from Online and last month was lucky enough to be a guest of Golf Monthly at American Golf to try and recieve a 3 wood.

I won a regional comp in Edinburgh which allowed me to play in the final at Royal Ashdown Forest GC.
Flown down from Aberdeen, out on the town (London) first night - very wined and dined and practise day the next with three pros offering support on the way round.
Kitted out in full gear (trousers/shirt/jersey) for the final.
The hospitality was just superb and my playing partner, I had just met him, was presented with an entry into a competition at the Old Course, with dinner B&B in the Old Course Hotel. He promptly handed it to me so not only was my 3 day trip to darkest England excellent but it was topped by my Old Course day as well ... all freebies!
