We had a session at Pings place at Gainsborough a few years back and Mike certainly was Tour standard, and as far as i remember, was far better the next morning than our no 1 - Pieman 😁

I was up at Ping HQ in Gainsborough? Blimey - don't remember that one!!!

To be fair, all the serious drinking was done at the GM Forum trip to Royal Troon!!

Not everyone has been on the forum the same amount of time.

As and when opportunities have arrived in the North MikeH has made them available.

Lots of people from the North over the years have made themselves available to travel South and been chosen.

It’s free, there’s no catch and is simply down to logistics and were the majority of Companies are based.

WoW, a thread complaining about the location of an event / opportunity that often results in a forum member or two attending a day free of charge, being looked after and then given a load of stuff for free.

Perhaps you should write to Callaway, Ping, Taylor Made, Footjoy, Under Armour, Galvin Green etc etc and inform them of the awful inconvenience they are causing you by not allowing you the opportunity to have free stuff without the trouble of leaving your street.

can you show me where I "complained'? I gave the magazine credit for the freebies, and merely said can we have some up north for a change if possible, while recognising the logistical reasons why they tend to be down South. I thought it a reasonable point to make, and if Mike comes on and says sorry but it doesn't make economic sense to hold these events up north, then that's totally understandable and fine by me.

It is what it is, i live in Ayrshire and had time off so travelled to Oxford for an Adams golf fittting through GM. Got to meet Fish in the flesh and IanP. Great wee day and had no problem with where it was. Still got one of three clubs in my bag. The only reason ive not applied for more is that i would feel guilty being picked again.
