Format importance ?

Associate/5 day members shouldn't be allowed to enter weekend comps, to me that is why their membership is much cheaper. You can't have your cake and eat it without getting the full members backs up.

Then the weekend comp shouldn't be played during the week.

That's the club's, or the weekend members' problem, not the associate members'. If I was a 'midweek' member but wasn't allowed to play in a comp midweek, I'd take my money elsewhere.

Last time I checked, Sunday was part of the weekend. Why not make the weekend comp Sat/Sun, rather than hold it on a day which isn't actually on the weekend?

Crazy.

This. If it's a midweek comp and you have playing rights you should be allowed to play. The club seems a very funny place to be

It not a mid week comp, it is part of the Saturday comp. Mid week members can play all they want Monday - Friday, also after certain times at the weekend.
Homer any time you want to find out how funny it really is, you're welcome to join me for a game

But it takes place during the week. No matter how you cut it, Friday is not the weekend, even in Uddingston 😉

Seniors comps, Junior comps and team matches also take place mid week, but if you're not a senior, a junior or a team member you can't play in that comp, even if you are a MIDWEEK member , simple really.
BTW, I don't make the rules:thup:

Update, mid-week members can play in the Friday / w/end comp. For handicap, magic 2s and sweep money only, they can't win the actual board comp/ medal.
