The Friday comp is only because full members can't always get a time on a busy Saturday . Mid week guys only pay £370 compared to full members fees of around £650 .
So play Saturday and Sunday then

Associate/5 day members shouldn't be allowed to enter weekend comps, to me that is why their membership is much cheaper. You can't have your cake and eat it without getting the full members backs up.
So play Saturday and Sunday then![]()
I'm busy shopping on Saturdays, Sundays i have my religious studies and i pray all day to the golfing gods![]()
Ever thought about 5-day membership![]()
That's the club's, or the weekend members' problem, not the associate members'. If I was a 'midweek' member but wasn't allowed to play in a comp midweek, I'd take my money elsewhere.
Last time I checked, Sunday was part of the weekend. Why not make the weekend comp Sat/Sun, rather than hold it on a day which isn't actually on the weekend?

Why are 4 balls not allowed ?
Not sure, all our strokeplay singles Sunday comps are 3 balls only, unless your in the very last group, and they allow that to be a four. All other times you can play in fourballs. Maybe its due to slow play.
See post 20.
It not a mid week comp, it is part of the Saturday comp. Mid week members can play all they want Monday - Friday, also after certain times at the weekend.
Homer any time you want to find out how funny it really is, you're welcome to join me for a game
But it takes place during the week. No matter how you cut it, Friday is not the weekend, even in Uddingston 😉
