I'm playing in the above comp tomorrow.

I'm entered with my usual 3 ball, my two friends are paired together and I've been paired with another 1 ball.

I don't know the guy, or if he will show up. Someone mentioned if he didn't show then I would 'Pivot'.

What's that ? Is it alternating my score with the other two players playing then derive the better ball ?

So hole 1 I'd take player A and my score and then take the best. Hole 2 I'd take player B and mine etc ?

Thanks

I've never heard that expression before but your suggestion sounds plausible. You could do that in a friendly game but I can't imagine it would be allowed in the actual competition, though.

Sounds dodgy.....I'd make it clear you're not AC/DC right from the outset....

:D :D

ok found out what it is, one of our 4 didn't show so we had a 3 ball.

So, three players.

A & C make a team and B & C make a team. Where C is the lowest handicap. So C basically plays for both teams.

( Dave to insert innuendo here :D )

Then the better ball score counts as normal. So if C makes the best score of the three both teams get the points.

Today we were using 3/4 handicap and I scored 38 points (17 out and 21 back), not sure how good that is, but probably not too bad I expect. The other team scored 35.

Our scores seemed to fit nicely together

(Dave over to you again :D)
