Footjoy XPS

So going by that logic they will be £150 no ta. Still stupid money to get wet feet in

based on that money i wouldn't buy them either. if i'm honest I think 100 max is a lot for a pair of shoes, i only purchased the fj sports as i got a good price on them. While i was shopping yesturday the misses picked up the adidas 360 atv and replies with "do you want these babe" i still don't think i could bring myself to spend £120 on a set, id rather 2 sets of the powergrind at £60 each.

Not all footjoy shoes leak.

In my experience it is just classics which are made like a tea bag, but then I don't wear them in the wet anyway.

Had 2 pairs of Dryjoy both leaked, swapped and replacements both leaked plus a pair of Contours, may as well have worn flip flops. They are fine in the dry, shame we don't get that many dry days!!!

I dont think this problem is limited to footjoy though. I have had adidias shoes which were worsde than useless in the wet too, and NIke are pretty wretched when it comes to rain as well.

Ditto on the Nike and Addidas. Nike lasted 3 games and let in, in fact they took almost two weeks to dry out. They were like sponges. The Addidas got slightly wet split and cracked and fell apart.

Played a few holes one evening last week wearing my old hunter wellington boots that have metal studs in the soles. not bad tbo. :)

I think it's interesting that people think £150 is too much to pay for a pair of shoes that grounds you in your swing, gives stability, reduces the chance of ankle injury and walks over 6000 yards every round but might consider spending double that on a big stick with a lump on the end that they would use a maximum of 14 times on most courses...

That's quite a big claim to make, that a pair of golf shoes can 'ground' in your swing reduce injury etc. I'm sure they are really comfortable etc but improve you game ?? I've never slipped over or been injured (apart from blisters) with any shoes I've owned yet.

It only seems a couple of years ago that Padraig was flogging some hitecs that would make me drive further.

Dont take this the wrong way tiger, but I think its intersting someone thinks a pair of golf shoes will make them better. A marketing mans dream?

Just pulling the spoon out Chris and by your analogy you could argue that some people who believe that £300 spend on a new driver that hits the ball 7 yards further is worth it is a marketing man's dream ;)

I'm not 100% sure I'll buy the XPS but I do know that I don't get as much support from my dryjoys as I'd like and my foot does roll on my follow through.

Tiger, if I'm honest my current fj's havent reassured me that £200/£150 on fj's is an investment. The first pair split after 3 weeks, and the recalled replacements showed signs of wear after about 6 months . Now these rrp'd at £100 and were their latest and greatest at the time, so what assures me that these new Carlos fandango fj's will be any better.

Also the side rigger design isn't anything news as adidas, stubart and I think Nike already do their own version without the £200 price tag. ;)

Fandango. I like that :D I've yet to be tainted by dodgy FJ's as my Dryjoys have given two years excellent service but they are tired now and need replacing. Been reading your shoe recommendation thread with interest but Nike are most definitely not on the list!

nowt wrong with nike shoes, I have a pair of nike cheapo power player plus (or something along those lines) paid 29.99 and they are comfy, waterproof and even if they only last 1 season I dont care. ALso got a pair of footjoy e-comfort that I bought for 19.99 and again very comfortable and waterproof

I alternate wear purely because of colour co-ordination as nikes are black and fj brown & white saddle type

Agreed but as the shaft in my last driver "fatigued" then I opted to get a new one instead. Obviously with it being shinier and new it goes further and straighter! :p :p :p :p
