Never played it, but happy to say am friends with the main man at SI Miles, lovely guy.

He is very appreciative of constructive criticism and is always on twitter answering queries.

Been to few away games with Miles J and his friends years and years ago. Didn’t know him well but was a good guy. Glad he made FM a success.

It's all about Football Manager 2005. Started off in the first season as Colchester manager. Now up to 2011 and the image shows my current team. Also got Zlatan, Wesley Snieder, Kaka, Casillas, Komany and Lahm in reserve. Have won the league in every season apart from the first year when I managed to get promotion and won the last three Champions Leagues.
FM05 was amazing. I took over Everton on that game (they had just sold Rooney in real life so had some cash) and ended up winning the Champions League. My strike partnership of Podolski and Pazzini was world-beating. Also, bizarrely James McFadden became one of the best left wingers in the world and I didn't even have to purchase him as he was already there! He was incredible. That was the year of Hitzlsperger and Guarin screamers as well.

You're a bunch of buggers you lot, I installed Steam and bought FM 2018 for about 8 quid from Steam last night. Then spend 90 minutes creating my manager. I had John Travolta at one point but ended up using the "off his face" mugshot of Tiger Woods for it 😂
Wonder if Tiger can win the Champions League with Man City 🤣

Absolutely gutted. Working offshore with lots of time on my hands so have been playing some Football Manager. Everything fine yesterday and then when I started my laptop this morning FM2005 has gone. No idea what's happened or why it's not there any more but it's going to be a very long next four weeks if I can't find a way to get it back. Haven't got the disk with me so can't reinstall it. If anyone with any computer knowledge knows why this has happened or can suggest a way to get it back I will be forever in your debt.

You can try this, not sure it'll work though.
Go int Documents, Sports Interactive, Football Manager 2005, Games, (Games again if required), and then double click the saved game you're looking for.
I'm not sure whether your playing it via Steam, if so you could try reloading it from there.
Best of luck ............................... I feel your pain.
Oh, maybe you could download it somewhere from the internet and then load your saved game into it, if that makes sense.
Let us know how you get on. (y)

Nope didn't work unfortunately. When I double click on it it asks which App I want to use to open it.

I had a short cut on my desktop but when I clicked on that it said it had moved and now the shortcut has vanished as well. If I go in to Control Panel it's still showing Football Manager 2005 as being there but it doesn't seem to be anywhere on my C Drive. The folder for Sports Interactive is still in the "Program Files (x86)" folder but the .exe within that folder has gone.

That’s really weird!

Have you checked your antivirus’ actions recently? If it’s a dodgy version of FM05 then it might have had a virus in the .exe and the antivirus might have quarantined or deleted it?

Trying to think outside the box here. :/

Oh crap!!!! It's back and now I'm forever in Kellfire's debt. But on the plus side I have got something to pass the time for the next 4 weeks.

Checked my antivirus (Avast, free version) and it was in the Virus Chest. Don't know why it would suddenly have done that as it's been installed for a couple of years with no problems. And it was a genuine version installed from the disk but a former colleague had done some kind of computer magic to make it so that I can play it without the disk being in.
