Flaming June!

I got caught in another pretty heavy shower this morning, during a singles match. It bucketed down for about 10 minutes and then stopped. We had a bit of light rain or drizzle in addition to this, but it was bearable.

Ye, your alright, you not made of sugar.

The weather right now is helping make our golf courses become the best they have been for years - the rain and the humid temps are a greenkeepers dream and the members are reaping the benefits of that - I'm happy for more to keep coming down

What an idiotic and selfish statement, you might be only getting drizzled on but in other areas we are under siege again by mass amounts of water falling in a very short period, this is Delamere Forest this morning and all around the West Midlands & Warwickshire we are flooded!

And they say it always rains in Scotland!
The weekend saw the first rain for five weeks in the Carse of Gowrie and what we've had has hardly been enough to lay the dust. I played Saturday and Sunday and missed the overnight rain, and again today in just a light drizzle for a couple of holes.

wow! I'm about 25 mins away from Delamere and we've had no way near that much rain here!

We've had it pretty bad in South Yorkshire, was hoping to get a round in on Saturday but can see most courses around her being severely water logged.

We've had the M5 closed, parts of the M54 closed due to flash floods, we've had a month's worth of rain in a few hours, and there's more coming, maybe we should ask it all to go down to GooglePhill's course who wants it??

Upto the end of last week, we almost hadn't had any rain for about 3 weeks at a guess and has been hot /sunny.Since then it hasn't stopped raining almost, very heavy rain.

But the course and garden needs its and hopefully the drier weather will return soon, will be good for growth on the greens and course.

Its Britain delc;)

15 miles from Coventry and nothing like that, obviously localised.

We were supposed to be playing a seniors away day at Dyrham Park, but that was rained off. It brightened up a bit after lunch, so I risked playing 9 holes at my home club, but got caught in a very heavy shower. So far this month I have been frozen and soaked, frozen, soaked, sweltered in 95% humidity, slightly soaked and today very much soaked! 🙄

Surely Dyrham could have organised for the rain to have simply straddled their course!

Can you post your schedule Del? That way we can all select times where you aren't playing - in the expectation that the weather will be perfect for them!

Btw. Dyrham's neighbour was in fantastic condition last weekend - a joy to play, though the deep rough was definitely a place to avoid!

Well that put paid to my bunker lesson. Absolute deluge for 30 minutes before it was due to start, wandered out on the off chance and it was completely flooded. Even the pitching green was flooded so no short game work. Inside for a swing lesson instead. Got the driver singing so all was not wasted. Not good pictures from Fish country (although the name is apt!)

You really are getting desperate in your attempts for reactions

Nothing idiotic at all about my statement - never said we are only getting drizzled on and we have had plenty of downpours that had flooded the greens and closed roads in the area - greenkeeper has used that water well and I'm happy for it to rain on the course it lovely - if you think that's "idiotic" then not for the first time that your issue to deal with

Good lord, I'm with Phil here. Mr Fish, your ott reaction is quite bizarre? Don't go poking badgers with spoons, always ends badly for you.

The rain around Ellesmere Port today is up there with the worst I've ever seen in this country. It was unbelievable. Consistently heavy for a good half hour, roads flooded very quickly and I believe shops in Cheshire Oaks had to close due to flooding

This was our short 8th due to the rain/flooding. Normally a small pond, just in front of the green and bunker on the left of the green. You can see the yellow stakes. Course is currently closed.

Looks almost like an island green now, I would love that to look like that all the time!

after a couple of weeks of pretty good weather and the course getting very firm in particular the greens, its now hosing it down and has been since 6pm yesterday and forecast looks like we are stuck with this till Sunday.... Well hoping Sunday as they have only done up till them on the BBC this morning:(

In the past month or so Germany has suffered from some of the worst weather I can recall for this time of the year. Thunderstorms, torrential rains, tornados ... we had it all (and still have it, to be honest). The weather and the damage it has caused has been daily headline news for weeks. Now it seems to have moved on in your direction (even though we still have severe weather warnings for this week). This does not lack a certaiin sense of irony, because I am flying to the UK tomorrow.

It was very localised. I drove up to Nottingham from Devon yesterday afternoon and on some stretches of the M5 it was scary it was coming down that hard. We drove in and out of three extremely heavy downpours. Not so bad on the way back, but still heavy rain in places.

Hardly anybody has got on our course this week due to the constant, heavy, unrelentless rain costing thousands in lost revenue, our Ladies Open has been cancelled and we are now closed today due to even more constant rain, but hey, not to worry though, the course looks lovely!
