Hi all,

I noticed yesterday that my club head seems to have come away a little from the shaft. Not sure if the technical names, it's a ping g20 driver, I've looked but can't figure out how to add photos to the forum. I bought it second hand but not sure if it's happened since or whether it was like that at first.

Is it simply a case of pushing it back on with a bit of force?

Thanks

I'm not saying your definitely wrong, but it's more likely the ferrule has moved away from the head a little bit.

If that's the case just push it back. If it won't shift, hold it over a boiling kettle for 10secs and it should move then.

as been said already will be the ferrule that's moved off up the shaft, and because the adhesive has degraded

most times happens because clubs get left in trunks and get exposed to both very high and cold temps, or get left in the garage

same reason why golf grips get hard and crack up - they don't get wiped clean and dried off and then retain moisture after play get exposed to more extreme temps and degrade a bunch quicker

always best to store clubs in the home someplace that retains a more stable temperature

I agree, but the wife will count the number of clubs and will know I've been buying again.... Oh and the locker is full at the club. There is only so many times you can keep swapping head overs ;)

Thanks guys, i have tried moving the ferule back down but wont budge, I will try putting over some boiling water for a few seconds tomorrow, if not I will ask at my pro shop :) It does look like the head is a little offset, not sure if it could of come a little loose? so far it hasn't flew off after a tee shot :fore:
