Five Courses You Most Want to Play

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

In no particular order :-

St Andrews Old Course - surely everyone who hasn't played there wants to?
Augusta
Loch Lomond
Cypress Point
Shinnecock Hills

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

Ignoring "world" golf.....

1) Muirfield
2) RCD
3) Kingsbarns
4) Carnoustie
5) Sunningdale (or Loch Lomond)

Chances of playing any?
Muirfield/RCD/Carnoustie.....high (with some luck and £££).
Kingsbarns/Sunningdale......not a hope.

If I could play only one, ever again, then die (?) I guess it would have to be Augusta.

One day I'll pull off a bank raid or multi-million pound fraud -
then I'll play the lot.

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

More chance of playing Kingsbarns than Muirfield RGDave and frankly I would advise you to play many many places before Kingsbarns.

Good advice. I only put it in there because I'd never be prepared to spend that kind of cash.

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

If you ask Scots nicely we could come up with a utility bill with a Scottish address and play it for £75 ;), the SGU website does winter rates at Muirfield

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

2nd time I played it Steve we booked with this scam despite living in Engerland and they didn't even ask for any proof just took the cash which I think was £60 at the time!

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

I will get around to playing these some day....

1) Woodhall Spa (never played)
2) Sunningdale (never played)
3) Swinley Forest (never played)
4) Carnoustie (again)
5) Blairgowrie Rosemount (again)

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

Torrey Pines (South)

Played it. Not going back. nice scenery, OK course, dodgy condition and horrific pace of play.

I can put up with slow play as long as everything else is ok. What disappointed you about the course? was it the greens?

Re: Five Courses You Most Want to Play

1. Augusta National
2. Wentworth West
3. Loch Lomond
4. Pebble Beach
5. Royal Melbourne

List based on courses I haven't played......yet :D
Not holding my breath for No1 though.

6 hours for the round.

The course has a lot of up and down so what holes and I just didn't think it looked like it was designed with the same imagination as many lesser courses.
