first round

well, had my first 18 holer at Bath GC today, well actually my first real 18 holes!! before only played 9 holer (twice to make a full round)
shot 101, but can easily cut down a few scores next time out, few very silly shots that messed up the round. ended up having to use the hybrid from the tee and wood wasnt working at the range prior to tee off. but decided to use the 3 wood on the 18th and it was a peach (by my standards anyway).
was just really glad to have a real look round the course (even if i did lose 5 balls!!!)
have an on course lesson on thurs am so this should help me cut shots even more.

Thats a pretty fair effort first time out and bodes well for the future. Don't be upset if there are a few higher scores in there as well certainly early on too as thats the nature of the beast but you should be pretty chuffed with that

agree with Homer, only had 3 rounds myself, 135, 98 and a 95

the 1st 18 I was cack, trying to hard and nervous as hell. Next 2 I couldnt hit driver in fact most tee shots were pants.

aslong as you enjoy it then thats all that matters, enjoy the good shots and try and forget the bad ones

Different beast out there on an 18 holer isn't it.

Sounds like you enjoyed it and are hungry for more. Won't be long until the 100 is broken.

Nice course up at Sham castle. That was a good effort for a first 18. Was it windy or calm?

thanks, yes, really enjoyed it!! i have 3 weeks off work, so will be up there as much as possible. need to get out there with some club guys to sign my cards off to activate my handicap.
the weather was sunny all day, slightly windy on front 9, picked up a bit between 10-15 and then died down for the rest, mostly towards me or across the fairways.
