Today i played my first ever competitive pairs tournament against 2 well established adults at the club. I am 14 and my partner is 16, we won 1up in the end and boy was it a close one. We raced to a 2up lead through 5 and won the sixth to take a 3up lead through six. We said we would try not to lose a hole on the front nine. Only for them to win the next hole. haha. We closed the front nine with a 3up lead. We maintained this lead until the 14th when after that they won 3 holes on bounce to make it all square. We were shell shocked on the 17th tee but i managed a birdie to ease the pressure. 1up, 1 to play. Pressure on as me and my partner both not on green and one of them 15feet from flag. I splashed out of the bunker to 12feet but my partner thinned it through the green. Pressure on me as They 2 putted for a par. After a long time reading the putt i sank in the middle. It was safe to say they were gutted as they all got shots on me, but we still progressed to the next round.
