I had my first 2010 round of golf yesterday at chapel en le frith. 30 points, 6 lost balls, 2 birdies and an eagle on the par 4 17th (392 yards in to a biting wind). A full 4 wood from the 16th fairway over trees and 2 bunkers. I could not have hit it better, but I looked in the trees for a couple of minutes, before the thought even crossed my mind that it might have gone in the hole!!! (5 points)
Am I the last to get going this year?
Playing Sandiway on Tuesday, can't wait now.

Eagle on the first outing. Sounds like you're making up for lost time already. Sounds like the driving needs some work for all the lost balls but that's not a bad points tally with these taken into account

CVG's been out 3 times for 9 only this year the poor Lamb......

Still should be back to normal friday - 1st comp next wednesday. Hoping to play to the level I've been at these last few weeks.

I had my first full round at the weekend... i was embarrassed by how poor i was. Just couldn't get going at all and only recorded two measly pars in the whole round... i felt truly terrible, as if i had never played the game before and just wanted to give up there and then.

Never give in though and hopefully this weekend coming will be slightly better!

can't be any worse really!

I don't know how some people can take a few months off through winter every year and get back into it.

i am the model of inconsistency at the moment.....keep playing a decent 9 and a TERRIBLE 9!
Played drumoig on sat 44 to the turn! then back in 2 over for the back nine with two birdies at par 5's....grrrrr
3 wks till our season starts....work to do!

No rounds from me yet, although my physio has advised I start hitting a few balls at the range to test my back out.

Only thing that is stopping me now is mental. Tried hitting a few putts at home and had no adverse effect from the bending that brings on, just not got my head round a swing yet.

When I do go it will only be with wedges and some half shots before I build up to a full swing though.

still snow on my course. i have booked a teetime for next Saturday but although forecast is good i am not sure course will be open for play.
