First, coolest and uncoolest.

Here was me thinking this thread was going to be about cars owned... ho-hum.

I remember with a mixture of affection & dred my mid 1970's sunderland strip i owned, which was made from a really awful man made fabric. That was hot to wear in the summer & bloody freezing in winter on the pitch. On top of that, was far from comfortable to wear in general. Always felt too tight.

I'm almost ashamed to admit to owning a West Ham strip from the mid 70's too from when they were up for the FA cup.

Actually was probably also the nicest to wear & cool at least at the time to own.

If I have to be honest I've always found standard hard wearing cotton Rugby strips much more satisfying, both to wear & to look at in general.

Nothing can compare to classicly designed shirts to classic paterns over the naff & faddy outfits most football teams seem to come up with every year, season & in some cases month by month.

1st was the Black and Gold of the 'Dream Team' AKA Berwick Rangers when I was 4 year old and we won our 1st ever title and I had the number 10 of our main man Eric Tait on it!

Worst probably the illuminous yellow and black hooped Celtic top when Di Canio played for us in 1996/97.Putrid!

Coolest would have to be the replica Scotland 1978 world cup strip that I still wear(had it about 10 years now, luckily it stretches!),they should make tops that now still!

I love football and played it till I was 46 but although I have owned a couple of football shirts Ive never had a love affair with any of them, but I wouldnt mind one of the greats shirts signed and sealed in a frame I must admit. ;)
