High there-thought I would start by asking a standard 'what cubs should I buy?' question!

I am only just getting into golf and have been using a rusty old set I found in the garage-needless to say I should probably get something a bit better. now as I am only starting out and can't be sure yet if this port is for me or not I'm a bit reluctant to be spashing out big bucks ( ok the truth is my wife wont let me!!:mmm::mmm:) am I have worked out a budget of £150 -no need for a bag or balls-I have them. has anyone got any suggestions, I have no problem whatsoever buying second hand.

thanks in advance.

p.s I am also a leftie.

Such a broad question with many possible answers. Are you after irons and woods. ?

You may see the terms game improvement (GI) and super GI for irons. They tend to have larger heads to help out.

Golfbidder is useful site for sussing out what models were which years when looking 2nd hand. If you can find something near you in golf shop, on classified ads or auction you might be able to try them on a range

All the big brands (the ones you see advertising) make good clubs, Benross have a good rep also.

For 2nd hand the grip condition is worth considering if a tight budget.

Think there are some sites/shops that specialise in leftie gear if you search.

Avoid: Sets that come with a 3 iron, they are focussed on better players the vast maority of the time
Blades, eg Mizuno MP-5, Titleist MB
Anything that says Tour or Pro on it
Thinner cavities such as Titleist AP2, Ping i200s, Mizuno JPX forged (might still work for you)

Do: full cavities such as Titleist AP1, Mizuno JPX 900, Ping G

I've given examples of current models so you can see the styles of clubheads easily on the websites, not sure how far back you have to go to get a set for 150 quid but you will have an idea of the look at least.

Definitely go to an american golf as well and just hit a bunch of the second hand stuff they have in
