Quick 9 holes with the old man tonight. First round ever without a bogey. Just the 3 doubles :(. Started well, 1 under through 4. Then finished double, double, par, double, birdie.

Just can't seem to cut out the stupid mistakes and put a full 9 or 18 together.

On the plus side, first outing for the covert. 3 tee shots, 3 fairways :). Honeymoon period well underway.

It is all about keeping errors to a minimum. Had a treble and two doubles but still got it round in 73 (+3) in tough conditions (CSS went to 73). I used my strokes where I knew par was a big ask but a net par was a safer option. You are clearly moving in the right direction and it will come

Yeh they are were silly mistakes.

First- par 4 through the fairway meaning a lay up. On for 3 with putt for par. Was more worried about holing it and saving par wen really should have just lagged it up for bogey. Went 6 foot past and missed the return.

Second - par 3 missed the green, thickish rough and just duffed the chip. Gave up on it. Next one on and 2 putt

Third. Long par4. Needed driver to be able to reach in two. Pushed it slightly into water, really should have played it as a par 5 as the landing area for where I carry my driver is only about 20 yards wide.
