well, having had loads of issues with my swing, tempo, frame of mind. finally managed to sort it all out, last week i shot 91, so knew it was there or there abouts. today i went out and shot 87!!YAY!!! had a bit of rushed first hole, as some old guys were RIGHT up my ass, they put me off a bit.and bogeyed. next hole, slight slice from elevated tee, came very close to a tree and about 100 yds out, couldnt take a wedge as the branches were in the way, so punched in a 7 iron to about 6 foot, and 2 putt for par. next, double bogey, bogey etc. that carried on for a bit. then hit the 8th.
GREAT drive (well straight and about 250 yds) nice 9 iron onto the green and 2 putt for par. 9th, ANOTHER great drive to leave 160 yds, sweet 7iron onto the green to about 3 feet and hole out for birdie!! YES!!!!!! next poorish drive (mainly due to feeling rushed by some cyclists), ended up making bogey. hardest par 3, bit short, but nice chip and another par.
few good holes (unlucky to make par, but bogeyed) then hit the 16th, another cracker of a drive, 155yds to the pin, 8 iron, but slightly fat and end up between two bunkers about 10 yds from the green, with the pin tucked very close the the fringe nearest to me. nice flop shot, then 1 putt for the par. finish off bogey bogey, but VERY happy with my game. walked straight off the course, to sign up for the next comp! BOOM!!!

I'm just curious though how you can be rushed by cyclists on a golf course?

yea, first time under 90. we have a few paths crossing the course, and one is 20 yds in front of the 10th tee. they were just chatting there, then saw me, stopped and waited for me. kind of just felt i had to hurry up, wish i didnt!
