Films

I watched Aftermath (2024) last week . One of those films that does not take much brain power, bombs, guns and people in peril films. Good enough to watch until the end.

Running Man. Mmmmmmm, not sure. Part of me enjoyed it, part of me was slightly disappointed. Some really good parts, some bits didn't fit. Not overly keen on the ending.

Always hard when you relate back to the Arnie version. That had some classic Arnie one liners and humour that this didn't quite have.

Not a dud, I just hoped for a bit more.

Wicked for Good last night. Only complaint from us was that some of the music was so loud that you couldn't hear the lyrics properly.

I watched 'The Mother' (Netflix) this week fairly quickly realised I had seen it before but could not remember enough of it to make a difference. I certainly enjoyed it even the second time around.

Action movie with scenes "that some may find upsetting".

2 films today , Wicked for good this morning. We really enjoyed it, wraps it up nicely.

This afternoon sat indoors in the warm and watched We live in time on Netflix. Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, good film tugs at the heartstrings and I think the room was a bit dusty 😭

2 films watched this week

The Kingdom (Netflix) investigators in Saudi and they prejudices they face trying to block the investigation following a shooting and bomb attack on a 'non Saudi' compound. Slowly builds up to a good ending.

Counterstrike (Netflix) South American film about a drugs gang trying to hunt down and kill a group of off duty Army Special Services soldiers. Guns and bullets all the way through, enjoyed it all the way.

Heard great things about it from a friend yesterday.

We watched I Swear as a family (grown ups) and all of us laughed all the way through. It's based on a true life story and has some sad bits, but we all ended up thoroughly enjoying it and well worth the twenty quid if you don't want to go to the cinema, or have a dodgy stick.

Dune cica 1984. Very much out of the Flash Gordon school of film making 😄. Bright, gaudy, bonkers. It had all of the key story points but trying to compress everything into 2hrs 15 meant so much was rushed. Splitting the recent films meant they could do so much more depth, explain the story properly. Had I not known the story I would have struggled with this.

Anyway, good fun and if you know the story, watch it
