I watched the Black Crab

Something quite different unidentified war between two ice and snow laden countries (hints of Russia v Ukraine)
Group of specialists transporting 'goods' behind enemy lines across frozen waters using ice skates.
Unexpected ending when they reach their destination.
Lots of action during the film.

Saw John Wick: Chapter 4 on Saturday - we both enjoyed it and obviously popular, as we haven't seen that many at the cinema for ages. It is obviously ridiculous, as most normal people would have died within the first 10 minutes (or at least been seriously injured) with the majority of what he goes through but there was one moment where there was a collective "ooh" from the audience, so you know that even for John Wick, this would have been a serious injury/death which he limped away from.

Watched Once Upon A Time in Hollywood last night. Love Brad Pitt, quite like Leonardo, but a lot of nothing happening for much of it. Luckily I had time to research on my phone the true events it was based on, otherwise I definitely wouldn't have known what was going on since I didn't know much about it. The ending was exciting I guess, and then you realise it's more of a 'reimagining' like he did in Inglorious Bastards. Not bad overall. Wouldn't watch it again though.

To film, better second time round. Brad Pitt is totally the show stealer. Set in an alternate universe, the final scenes are brilliant. Note that Brad Pitt in Bullet Train copies part of the last OUATIH scene… worked well in both.

Hopefully going tomorrow evening.

Just back from watching this… did enjoy it, very much an eighties video game. Fighting through the levels and the bosses until you get to the end of the game, extra lives included.

Big homage to The Warriors….. or one scene totally ripped from The Warriors.

It’s long, maybe a tad too long in parts but still fun. Some very creative ways to die, and some extraordinary bullet proof suits. Stay to the end of the credits too, there’s something at the end.

I think likening it to a video game is a great analogy.

I wish I'd known about the end scene, I'll have to google that now

Great scenes around the Arc de Triomphe, how long must they have taken to film and how much must the mayor like John Wick films to allow it to be taken over for however long it took?

I felt bruised watching the film, how many times does the poor bloke bounce?

Funniest thing that struck me as I was leaving, the police aren't up to much in these films. All that shooting and never one to be seen .

My favourite is still the 1st film but this one takes second place quite comfortably.

That's exactly how I thought the other John Wick films were. There's always a 'final boss' and suchlike. Good to see they haven't changed the formula. We'll be going to see this one at some point. I was gutted to hear about Lance Reddick, I always liked his scenes in the films.

was thinking exactly that last night. How many dead bodies and gunshots around the Paris streets and not a single Gendarme in sight🤔

Like the way all the shooting kicks off in the nightclub and the revellers just carry on dancing too….

But hey, it’s John Wick, it’s totally cool….. he’ll yeah!!

I can't remember if it was the first or second film but I remember Keanu Reeves being on Graham Norton and being asked about John Wick, who would win in a John Wick versus........... In all of the answers and scenarios he just deadpanned ' John Wick'. When asked why or how, he again deadpanned ' it's John Wick', then smiled and shrugged. It's how you have to see those films, just shrug and get on with it. Enjoy the ride

I watched two films this week

Everything, everywhere all at once - really one for those prepared to suspend reality like watching the Matrix or Inception (parts of it reminded me of Travellers) I enjoyed it. I nearly turned it off when the film screen said The End but realised I had not been watching for long enough.

Where the Crawdads Sing - it took me 3 nights to watch this all. Glad I watched it bit it took some getting in to - great ending.

I watched Cocaine Bear on Sunday morning, it was not what I was expecting but it was straight in there from the beginning and continued throughout the film, I did not have a problem but it was quiet a bit more bloodthirsty than I it was going to be, thought it was quiet enjoyable in the end.

Watched She Said on a plane, a bit like Spotlight- saddening and not unexpected, though still shocking - unfortunately they probably haven’t caught and punished enough of them. They’re still out there.
