Fights on a golf course

Never witnessed any boxing on the course and to be honest I can't think of there ever being an excuse for it. Seen and heard a few arguments but nothing that has ever resulted in violence.

The guy from North Berwick (great course) your club dealt with it superbly. Both culprits kicked out.

Just to emphasise, the club in question was not North Berwick but a previous club of mine (and no, I didn't move to NB because I got chucked out for scrapping :D)

I actually had something like that happen to me when I played a muni in Blackpool during my last holiday. It was already late (I teed of at 6 pm or so) and I was pretty much alone on the course. Or so I had thought, because it turned out that two guys, teenage boys, I would guess, were hiding in the bushes close to one of the tee boxes and had a great time yelling into my back swing. Scared the **** out of me the first time. I felt very exposed out there on my own. Funnily enough it did not disturb my shot at all. Quite the contrary, I hit my driver further than ever before in my life. Nothing works like a bit of adrenaline, I guess.

Anyway, I soon decided that they were no threat and were just having some harmless fun. And I really had to admire their crawling skills. They were in camouflage and sneaked around the side of the hole on all fours, commando style, and were really difficult to spot. They did the yelling thing a few more times and I started rating their timing, shouting things back at them like "Too late, the ball's already gone. Pay attention here!" It stunned them a bit, but I think I earned their respect, because after my next drive (which was an absolute bomb if I might say so myself) they even gave me a round of applause and then let me continue in peace.

Still, it did make me a bit uncomfortable, because it made me realize, that golf course or no golf course, I was basically a woman alone out in a pretty remote public park in evening twilight. I was kind of relieved when I made the turn and was heading back towards the club house where there were at least a few people about. (Well, people not hiding in the bushes, that is)

I saw a guy in the group in front of me get headbutted at Southampton muni. Chap (thug!) from an adjacent fairway stormed over, nutted the guy then turned around and stormed back off again. Absolutely no idea what it was all about.

Mistaken identity - he was really after a certain bloke in the group behind............ ;)

Not really seen anything.

Think the worse I've seen is a guy we were playing with on the first round of the club champs, at my last place, storm off on the very first hole. Full on effing and blinding all the way back up the 1st.

Apparently there was a bit of banter prior to us teeing off that he didn't take kindly to. Stormed off past the first tee and threatened to rip someone a new one.

Me and the other guy just stood there looking at each other speechless.

If I remember correctly he got a months ban from the club.

The was also another guy that got kicked out the club after a couple of nasty situations where he'd apparently squared up to a couple of his playing partners for no reason apart from the fact he was playing badly. And apparently it was their fault.

Only ever seen one incident, it was on our 8th T, a chap duffed his shot into the set aside and then proceeded to assault himself with his club by banging the shaft of his club into his head several times and actually drawing blood in the process, mental...

Had a major fallout out with a guy at Rufford Park. Me and a PP were 2 mins late getting to tee so tucked in behind two X three balls. First three ball gets to green and other three ball have not even teed off. One of the three says to a PP, " what time did you tell him to be here for", 10 mins ago guy replies. A couple of seconds later this guy comes ambling towards first tee. The three ball was a fourball. 1 st green is now empty. I said to the four guys " do you mind if me and PP go now, as your fourball will hold us up for 18 holes". This guy goes mental and I mean mental. I said quite calmly to him " we were 2 mins late, so appreciated you six had to go before us, your PP was late, so the correct etiquette is to let us go". At this, said gobs worth nearly had a stroke screaming and bawling. The playing guy who was late defused the situation when he said to us "yes you are totally correct, please tee off" then told his pal to button it.
I promptly smashed it straight down the middle and had my best ever round at that time. I know said incident was investigated, and club member gave a differant account of events. Suffice to say ave not played there since.

I have a fight with my putter every single round. :mmm:

I have seen two brothers go at it after one laughed at a massive fat from his bro who was playing g extremely well up to that point in the 17th. The 3 iron got thrown at him and a few shots were thrown too, he then chase him down the fairway.

My pp and I laughed so much.

Me and my brother in law were playing at Little Hay (a P&P near Hemel Hampstead) as usual my BinL was a bit late so I asked the 3 ball waiting on the tee to go ahead of us. They had no clue and had lost a couple of holes before we reached half way they stopped at the club house to buy stuff and the ran on to the tee before as we were walking over.. This really wound my BinL up but very politely he asked if we could go through only to be told to "foff and not to be so fing silly" any way halfway down the back 9 they were looking for balls over to the left of the green we got fairly close to them and decided to pick up and go to the next tee (par 3 with a tee set in trees) with that the swearing one ran over and asked us what the f did we think we were doing. Now my BinL is a ex squaddie and had had enough so he squared up I got in between and the other guys ran up and cooled everything down. Agreement was reached that we should go off and I hit then my BinL!! Straight off the hosel, hit a tree and bounced over our heads straight into the hands of the swearing one.. Cue much laughter and we parted on good terms.. BUT I still remind him now and again, especially on tight par 3s...
